When Lacretia Hill kissed her daughter Sanaya goodbye Tuesday morning in the Marshall Elementary parking lot, it was a return to normalcy for her and her kindergartner.Sanaya Hill was heading back into the classroom for the first time this month on April 17. She, like 40,000 TPS students, had missed the past 11 school days because of the Oklahoma teacher walkout.For her mother, that's meant paying for extra day care, which "makes it a little bit difficult, but it hasn't been that difficult."She taught Sanaya at home during the walkout, so she's not worried about having two weeks in which her daughter wasn't learning. U.S. Marshals are offering a $1,500 reward for help finding a man they say is a known Crips gang member wanted in the March killing of a Suffolk man.Thomas Nesmith, 24, is one of three people Norfolk police have charged in the death of 25-year-old Patrick Cochrane.Cochrane died March 1 after police found him inside a car suffering from a gunshot wound.Nesmith, who's been charged with second-degree murder, was in Brooklyn, N.Y., as recently as mid-March, U.S. Marshals said in a news release. He's considered armed and dangerous.Two others charged in Cochrane's death, Jeremy Harris, 27, and Becca Banta, 24, are also facing second-degree murder charges. WASHINGTON — Police arrested a man who brought a loaded handgun to BWI Marshall Airport over the weekend. A Transportation Security Administration officer caught 59-year-old Patrick Schmitt of Chester, Maryland, trying to bring a loaded handgun past the security checkpoint on Saturday morning. He had a 9 mm handgun loaded with three bullets when his carry-on bag went through the TSA checkpoint x-ray machine, said TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein. Schmitt told TSA officials that he forgot that he had his loaded gun with him, Farbstein said. Maryland Transportation Authority police arrested him and he is facing charges of interfering with security procedures and wearing, carrying, or transporting handgun. “There is no indication that he has been involved in a similar situation before,” MDTA police spokesman Cpl. FDNY fire marshals investigating the cause of the deadly fire inside Trump Tower were sifting through evidence and analyzing what was left of the charred apartment Sunday, officials said. They were focused on the 50th-floor apartment that belonged to Todd Brassner, a 67-year-old art dealer who died in the blaze Saturday night, hoping to identify what sparked the fatal inferno. Deadly fire at Trump Tower Brassner's apartment in the Fifth Ave. high-rise became completely engulfed after the blaze was sparked about 5:30 p.m., with flames soon blasting out the windows. The four-alarm blaze was brought under control at 7:40 p.m. Fire marshals were working to piece together where in his apartment the fire originated and how the flames were able to spread so rapidly through the large unit.
