On the day season three of Abi Morgan ’s drama series The Split launches in the U.S. on BBC America, producer Sister has snapped up rights to the screenwriter’s autobiographical book This is Not a Pity Memoir . Morgan will not only adapt her memoir for TV, but will also direct and executive produce the project, along with Sister co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Jane Featherstone. Sister and Morgan have already collaborated on three seasons of The Split , which was originally for the BBC, and this latest agreement strengthens their ties. No broadcaster is attached at this stage of development but Sister will co-produce with Morgan’s production company Little Chick. EXCLUSIVE: Izzy Meikle-Small ( Never Let Me Go, Snow White and the Huntsman ) and Joey Phillips ( Billy Elliot ) has joined the cast of Starz ‘s Outlander for Season 7. The pair will play brother and sister Rachel Hunter and Dr. Denzell Hunter, respectively. Fans of the book series will be familiar with the two new characters. Rachel and Denzell are Quakers whose quiet country life is changed when Young Ian (John Bell) arrives at their farm with a sick and injured William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart). Harvey and Bob Weinstein have signed deals to re-up at the Weinstein Co. for another three years, despite lying about this to Deadline for the past several days. This was hardly a state secret; Bob Weinstein told Deadline that he and his brother were nearing re-up deals when they got COO David Glasser to change his mind about leaving, after he’d tendered his resignation to the board. By signing new contracts, the Weinsteins can put an end to that speculation and make clear their commitment to the company they launched a decade ago. Now, the big question is whether this means the board will free up the necessary infusion of money to spend on film and TV slates to move forward, and if this halts the exodus of staff and rumors of cash woes that has dogged the company in recent months. It might also revive discussions to sell off a TV production division that has hits and no debt, after a big sale to ITV fell apart.
