It’s hard to believe that she’s never performed a concert in the Twin Cities. We don’t count her cameo at KDWB’s Last Chance Summer Dance in 1999. Remember, she was going to play at Xcel Energy Center with Lionel Richie last year but the tour got scrapped when he injured his knee. Carey also was booked for Northrop in 2010 but that show also canceled. So finally the voice behind 18 No. 1 singles is going to sing in Minneapolis. Carey will drop her 15th album, “Caution,” on Nov. 16. She also continues her Las Vegas residency, “The Butterfly Returns,” at Caesars Palace Colosseum. Mariah Carey has one of the most successful careers in pop music history, but that doesn't mean she's not always on her grind. During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night (June 6) the superstar revealed that she's been penning her next release during late-night studio sessions, often with some help from two promising young songwriters. "It's so good to just be back in the studio," Carey told Kimmel. While few additional details were revealed, the mom of two did explain that her "talented" kids -- 7-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe -- recorded a song together, but she's uncertain whether the public will get to hear their masterpiece. Mariah Carey has finally decided to come forward about the mental illness she's been suffering from for years. The legendary singer told People this week that she was diagnosed with bipolar II disorder in 2001 and has been in "constant fear" of being exposed, but is now hopeful that the stigma can finally be lifted soon. "Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me," she told the mag. "It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn't do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music."
