In the first teaser trailer for Moonage Daydream — the first documentary film about David Bowie to be sanctioned by the artist’s estate — director Brett Morgen wields rare and never-before-seen footage to present the film’s quintessential goal of capturing the illustrious performer. “All people, no matter who they are, all wish they’d appreciated life more,” Bowie says in a voiceover in the trailer. “It’s what you do in life that’s important, not how much time you have – or what you wished you’d done.” Arriving in theaters in September, the film mines five decades worth of material from Bowie’s archives, from exclusive drawings, recordings, and films to journals, personal footage, and unseen performances. EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Pinnock , the breakout star of CBS hit comedy Ghosts , has signed with ICM Partners for representation. On Ghosts , Pinnock plays Alberta, a Prohibition-era lounge singer turned ghost who is trapped in a modern-day country estate recently inherited by two unexpecting new tenants. The hit comedy series recently wrapped its first season and has been renewed for a second season on CBS. Pinnock also co-created with Punam Patel ( I Love That For You ), the adult animated series Unmentionables , which is being developed for television by Emmy-winning producer Anthony Hemingway and Oscar nominee Taraji P. Henson. The project revolves around a rag-tag group of undergarments and the occupational hazards and triumphs they go through with their millennial owner. Officer Christine “Chris” Alonso has turned in her badge. Original S.W.A.T. cast member Lina Esco is exiting the CBS procedural after five seasons. Calling it “one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make,” Esco said farewell to fans in a statement on social media. SiriusXM has acquired Team Coco , Conan O’Brien’s podcast network and digital media business, including his popular podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend . Team Coco’s staff will continue to produce the network’s slate of podcasts and collaborate on new content for SiriusXM. The deal includes a five-year talent agreement for O’Brien to remain host of his namesake podcast, which will continue to be available widely. He’ll also collaborate with SiriusXM to create and exec produce a new full-time, original Team Coco comedy channel for SiriusXM subscribers. The agreement also includes distribution of select video from Conan’s podcast as well as from the archives of his long-running late-night show on TBS, live events and merchandise from the Team Coco brands. Director Emily Atef ’s Cannes Un Certain Regard drama More Than Ever is a careful, fastidious, Tradition of Quality film about impending death that’s easy to admire but won’t exactly pack ‘em in. Vicky Krieps impresses yet again, here playing a woman in her early 30s suffering from a likely fatal condition who travels from France to the fjords of Norway to try to come to terms with her unfair lot in life. It’s an entirely respectable and honorable piece about facing your own demise far before your expected time, but still the kind of thing most people would rather not think about. In Europe in particular, the film will be remembered as the last feature to star the popular French actor Gaspard Ulliel , who died in a skiing accident on January 19. He had also played the young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising as well as the title character in the biopic Saint Laurent .
