Trump Demanded Armed Supporters Be Let Into Rally Before Calling for Capitol March

June 28, 2022 by www.rollingstone.com

Former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified before the Jan. 6 committee on Tuesday that on Jan. 6, President Trump insisted that security measures be taken down at his Ellipse rally in order to boost the size of the crowd, arguing that people carrying weapons were “not here to hurt me.” Hutchinson said she overheard Trump say something to the effect of, “‘I don’t fucking care that they have weapons. They’re not here to hurt me. Take the fucking [magnometers] away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here.” Cassidy Hutchinson says Trump wanted a bigger crowd at his rally, and he said: "I don't fucking care that they have weapons. They're not here to hurt me. Take the fucking mags away. Let my people in. They can march to the Capitol from here.” #January6thHearings pic.twitter.com/cRJkpIkv7C — philip lewis (@Phil_Lewis_) June 28, 2022 Hutchinson in her surprise testimony was detailing Trump’s frustration at the effect metal … [Read more...] about Trump Demanded Armed Supporters Be Let Into Rally Before Calling for Capitol March

Trump ‘Lunged’ at Secret Service Agent Who Refused to Take Him to Capitol on Jan. 6

June 28, 2022 by www.rollingstone.com

In bombshell testimony to the Jan. 6 committee , former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified that on Jan. 6 an irate President Trump railed against aides and Secret Service officers who refused to transport him to the Capitol, allegedly yelling, “I’m the f-ing president, take me to the Capitol now,” and attempting to grab the steering wheel of the presidential limousine as it left the rally at the Ellipse. “The president reached up toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel,” Hutchinson testified. “Mr. Engel grabbed his arm and said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing. We’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge toward Bobby Engel. When Mr. Ornato had recounted this story to me he had motioned toward his clavicles.” Trump had a tantrum in the beast and said “I’m the f’ing President, take me to the Capitol now” pic.twitter.com/WiA8MHA7Tf — Acyn (@Acyn) … [Read more...] about Trump ‘Lunged’ at Secret Service Agent Who Refused to Take Him to Capitol on Jan. 6

Late Night TV Hosts React To “Truly Insane” Revelations About Trump’s Multiple Jan. 6-Related Meltdowns

June 28, 2022 by deadline.com

What was a dark day for Democracy turned out to be a shining night for late night TV . Cassidy Hutchinson, the top aide to former President Donald Trump ’s last Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, gave riveting testimony of scenes that bordered on the absurd as the United States Capitol came under siege by Trump’s supporters and in the lead up to that event. One of the stories she told was how Trump, as described later by Trevor Noah , lost his sh** when he found out about an interview his then-Attorney General Bill Barr had given to the Associated Press. Hubbard related a scene she witnessed while walking into the dining room where, according to the White House valet who was about to clean ketchup off the wall, the then-president had thrown the his lunch — and plate — against the wall. Asked if that were an isolated example Hubbard replied, “There were several instances throughout my tenure where I was aware of him throwing dishes or flipping the table cloth to let … [Read more...] about Late Night TV Hosts React To “Truly Insane” Revelations About Trump’s Multiple Jan. 6-Related Meltdowns

Donald Trump Fought Secret Service to Lead Rioters to Capitol

June 28, 2022 by www.tmz.com

TMZ.com UPDATE 11:54 AM PT -- Hutchinson went on to say, the day after the insurrection, Trump's advisors persuaded him to make public remarks to calm the country. She says Trump agreed, but refused to characterize the riots as violent, and Trump said he didn't think the rioters did anything wrong. Instead, he blamed Pence and, presumably referring to the "Hang Mike Pence" chants, Trump said, "Mike deserves it." She also said Trump wanted to say he would pardon the insurrectionists, but was talked out of it by his advisors. Donald Trump was not only in on the January 6th insurrection, he wanted to lead the insurrectionists to the Capitol, and when the Secret Service refused to drive him there, Trump tried to grab the wheel of the Presidential car ... this according to Mark Meadows ' right hand aide, Cassidy Hutchinson . Fox News Her testimony is shocking ... the January 6th House Committee called a special session so she could appear and tell … [Read more...] about Donald Trump Fought Secret Service to Lead Rioters to Capitol

Jason Kander: Trump’s Support for the Troops Is a Lie

July 11, 2018 by www.rollingstone.com

Last week, the Associated Press reported that the U.S. Army is discharging reservists and recruits who joined the military as part of a promised path to citizenship. I’ve spent time since then trying to remember if I served in the Army with anyone who wasn’t a U.S. citizen. And the truth is, I have no idea. That’s because I, and everyone else I served with, would never ask a question like that. When you wear U.S. Army on your uniform, no one ever asks your citizenship because they know everyone there is willing to die for our country, which is more than a lot of citizens are willing to do. I’m not saying everyone has to serve, I’m just saying military service is patriotic whether or not you’re a citizen. President Trump is now turning his back on men and women who bravely serve our country despite not having the privileges and rights that come with being born here. This follows a disturbing pattern. President Trump is trying to keep people of certain races and … [Read more...] about Jason Kander: Trump’s Support for the Troops Is a Lie

Donald Trump — Terry Pegula’s a Loser … I Could’ve Saved The Bills!

October 13, 2014 by www.tmz.com

SHOTS FIRED!!! Donald Trump is taking aim at the new Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula ... saying he's a LOSER who won't lead his team to a title. Trump was in the running to buy the team, but was ultimately outbid by Pegula -- and this morning, Donald is saying the whole thing was a blessing in disguise. "Even though I refused to pay a ridiculous price for the Buffalo Bills, I would have produced a winner. Now that won’t happen," Trump tweeted. Trump added, "The people of Buffalo should be happy Terry Pegula got the team but I hope he does better w/the Bills than he has w/the Sabres. Good luck!" Of course, Trump's referring to the Buffalo Sabres -- which Pegula also owns -- a team that flat out sucked over that past couple of seasons. Trump concluded with a parting shot at the NFL -- "The @nfl games are so boring now that actually, I’m glad I didn’t get the Bills. Boring games, too many flags, too soft!" … [Read more...] about Donald Trump — Terry Pegula’s a Loser … I Could’ve Saved The Bills!

Even Fox News Is Calling Cassidy Hutchinson’s Jan. 6 Testimony ‘Devastating’

June 28, 2022 by www.rollingstone.com

The news Tuesday was so bad for Donald Trump that even Fox News couldn’t find a way to spin it in his favor. “I’ve covered politics a long time,” Bret Baier said on the air. “I don’t think there has been testimony like this — that is kind of jaw-dropping, in a way — on the inside workings of a White House in crisis after, you know, at this moment, Jan. 6 , that we have seen since Watergate.” Baier was referring to testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson , a former aide to Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows . Hutchinson was a surprise witness for the committee on Tuesday afternoon, who said that Meadows warned her on Jan. 2 that things could get “real, real bad on Jan. 6.” Fox anchor Bret Baier: "I've covered politics a long time. I don't think there has been testimony like this, kind of jaw-dropping in a way on the inside workings of a White House in crisis after, you know, at this moment, January 6th, that we have seen since Watergate, really." … [Read more...] about Even Fox News Is Calling Cassidy Hutchinson’s Jan. 6 Testimony ‘Devastating’

Trumpists Call on Supreme Court to Let States ‘Establish Religion Within Their Borders’

June 28, 2022 by www.rollingstone.com

America First Legal (AFL), a right-wing group whose team includes several former Trump administration officials, is urging the Supreme Court to do even more to shatter what’s left of the wall between church and state. On Tuesday, June 28, the group issued a statement essentially calling for a total overhaul of the First Amendment ’s establishment clause, a key provision separating church and state. The statement arrived one day after the Supreme Court cracked part of the clause’s foundation with its ruling in Kennedy v. Bremerton . In that case, the court’s far-right majority ruled that public school officials in Bremerton, Washington, violated the First Amendment rights of high school football coach Joseph Kennedy when they fired him following a controversy stemming from his ritual of praying at the 50-yard line during football games. The 6-3 decision effectively overruled a 1971 precedent for interpreting the First Amendment’s establishment clause. While the … [Read more...] about Trumpists Call on Supreme Court to Let States ‘Establish Religion Within Their Borders’
