Paul McCartney will record a score for an animated film based on the children’s story Macca co-wrote, High in the Clouds. According to Variety, the film will be produced by former New Line Cinema founders Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne and directed by The Lion King‘s Rob Minkoff. “Paul [McCartney] said he would commit to a score of original songs as part of it,” Lynne said. “Bob and I had never focused on animation in our career, but that got our attention.” High in the Clouds tells the story of a squirrel’s quest to find an animal sanctuary, Variety writes. The film will be McCartney’s first heavy involvement in an animated project since 1968’s Beatles cartoon Yellow Submarine, and his first time composing music for a movie since 1967’s The Family Way. Brockhampton Plot North American Tour
Brockhampton have announced a headlining North American tour in support of their new album, Ginger. The “Heaven Belongs to You” trek kicks off October 26th at the PNE Forum in Vancouver, Canada and wraps December 13th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. U.K. rapper Slowthai will serve as support for 20 out of the 25 dates on the trek. Along with the headlining dates, Brockhampton’s itinerary includes November festival slots at Las Vegas’ Day N Vegas and Tyler, the Creator’s eighth-annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, the latter alongside Solange, YG and Tyler himself. After a brief break following the North American tour, Brockhampton will perform a series of six dates in Australia and New Zealand, starting January 4th in Brisbane. Against Me! to Perform Classic Albums on Fall Tour
Against Me! will perform four classic albums in their entirety during select dates of a North American tour set to launch this fall. The trek features two-night stands in five cities, Los Angeles, Toronto, Sayreville, New Jersey, Boston and Baltimore. The first night, Against Me! will perform 2005’s Searching for a Former Clarity and 2007’s New Wave, and on the second they’ll play 2010’s White Crosses and 2014’s Transgender Dysphoria Blues. The run opens October 12th and 14th at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles and wraps October 24th and 25th in Baltimore. Tickets go on sale May 17th at 10 a.m. local time.
