A MAN with a deadly inherited heart disease has had his life saved — thanks to Davina McCall’s Long Lost Family programme. Simon Day, 47, learned of the condition, which had already killed four family members, only after he was reunited with his parents on the ITV show. Hearing he had recently survived a heart attack, dad James McDonnell, 65, urged Simon to see a specialist. The doctor found the web designer, of Torquay, Devon, had four blocked arteries and needed an immediate quadruple bypass operation. Simon said: “There’s no question that by finding me and warning me, my dad saved my life.” They were reunited on Long Lost Family last July.
