The film was adapted by Michael McGowan, Michal Lali Kagan and Sarah Bellwood and is produced by legendary producer Arthur Cohn, who has won not one, not two, not three but six Academy Awards. He’s earned Oscars for The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, Dangerous Moves, One Day in September, American Dream, Black and White in Color as well as Sky Above and Mud Beneath. With Cox starring and Cohn producing, the ingredients are all there to make this an award season contender — particularly for Cox, who has never been nominated for an Oscar or won a Golden Globe. … [Read more...] about ‘The Etruscan Smile’ Debuts, ‘Gay Chorus Deep South’ Sings Into Theaters While ‘The Portal’ And ‘Inside Game’ Open – Specialty B.O. "On a more serious note I did enjoy the movie, although it is clearly not what it could have been due to the meddling of Warner Bros. and the forced comedy. The run time was my biggest gripe with the movie, with events that should take a long time over in a flash; but still definitely a fun movie to watch, and would recommend it." Jett Snyder's review is honest and it asks the question: does Zack Snyder feel the same way? It could be possible that Snyder and his family are upset about the "meddling" of Warner Bros. on the finished product. … [Read more...] about Zack Snyder’s Son Reviews Justice League, Takes Swipe at Warner Bros.
I was trying to outdo myself with each song I wrote. When I wrote “Far From Me,” which ended up on my first record, I really felt like I’d gotten a hang on what I wanted to do: writing like I pictured the song. 3rd Update, Friday AM: It’s official now. ViacomCBS will take a 49% stake in beIN Media’s Miramax library for a total of $375M. This includes an upfront cash payment of roughly $150M per beIN along with a commitment of $45M annually over the next five years or $225M which will be used for new film/TV development. The deal is expected to close by the end of 1Q next year and beIN will retain a 51% stake. I hear that the current Miramax leadership including CEO Bill Block will not change. ViacomCBS’ pursuit of Miramax fell apart in early November when the former shot off a letter of disinterest, but our sources speculated that was just a hardball tactic: A stake in the Miramax library was too valuable for the media conglom as they seek to be a provider of content in the booming streaming era where competing media conglom services are in need of content. For beIN, it’s a big win as they always wanted to retain ownership and control in the library. Some sources … [Read more...] about ViacomCBS Taking 49% Stake In Miramax For $375M
