‘Ted Lasso’: Apple Sets Season 3 Premiere, Reveals First-Look Photo
Ted Lasso fans have a little bit more to wait for the big Season 3 premiere, which will be this spring, Apple TV+ announced at TCA . In the meantime, the streamer is teasing what’s ahead in a first-look photo (below) showing the titular character (Jason Sudeikis) face-to-face with Nathan Shelley (Nick Mohammed), who looks to still have his feet planted on the dark side. Standing between them in the back is another Ted Lasso villain, Rupert (Anthony Head). In the Season 2 finale, Nathan unleashed all his built-up disappointments and frustrations after telling the media about Ted’s panic attacks in a power play. He then left Richmond to coach West Ham for Rupert (Head). Ted appears to not be holding a grudge but the duo may still have some work to do together to get past those resentments. Paging Dr. Sharon Fieldstone (Sarah Niles)! Ted Lasso premiering within the spring date window puts its Season 3 in Emmy contention this year. During the Shrinking panel … [Read more...] about ‘Ted Lasso’: Apple Sets Season 3 Premiere, Reveals First-Look Photo
‘You People’ Review: Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jonah Hill Lead Kenya Barris’ Hysterically Funny & Smart Feature Debut
In a nutshell the brilliantly hilarious, pertinent, and wickedly smart new movie, You People is in some ways a new age Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, that landmark 1967 Tracy-Hepburn-Poitier Oscar winning comedy about the effect an interracial relationship has on the parents of the young couple. Of course back then it was a major social issue and even had trouble booking some southern theatres. The idea was switched in a Bernie Mac/Ashton Kutcher 2005 remake that all those years later did not have the same impact. With anti-semitism and racism back on the rise in 2023 America however the concept of an interracial/interfaith marriage, Black and White, Jew and Muslim, could not be more timely or needed, and in co-star Jonah Hill ’s and director Kenya Barris ’ whipsmart screenplay is also a knock-you-out-of- your-seat laugh riot. Ironically I saw it this week at its World Premiere at the same Westwood Village theatre where I saw Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner all those years … [Read more...] about ‘You People’ Review: Eddie Murphy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jonah Hill Lead Kenya Barris’ Hysterically Funny & Smart Feature Debut
Lil Peep Legal War Nearing ‘Global Settlement’ as Trial Looms
Lil Peep ’s mom is “hopefully” close to settling her multimillion-dollar legal war stemming from her son’s 2017 fatal overdose on a tour bus, her lawyer said Tuesday, but a Los Angeles judge refused to postpone a March 8 trial date in the complicated case. “Have you wrapped up the settlement here?” Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Teresa Beaudet asked the parties at the first hearing in the case since both sides announced they’d reached a deal “in principle” last October. “Unfortunately, we don’t have that type of news to report at this juncture. The parties are still working very hard going through their paces. There are a number of complexities associated with what’s being discussed,” Paul A. Matiasic, the lawyer for Lil Peep’s mom Liza Womack, replied. “It’s taking a little bit longer than we all anticipated.” The lawyer then asked for a 30-day delay in the case based on his client’s lawsuit against her son’s label First Access Entertainment (FAE) and subsequent … [Read more...] about Lil Peep Legal War Nearing ‘Global Settlement’ as Trial Looms
