At the Season Two premiere for Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, Selena Gomez called on men in Hollywood to use their platform to speak out about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Moon Prism Power Turn Up: Meet the IRL Japanese Girl Group Based Off ‘Sailor Moon’
From Blackpink to Twice , K-pop’s been getting most of the shine when it comes to the biggest girl groups in the world, but a new Japanese act debuting this week is hoping to become the biggest girl group in the universe . The group’s name is SG5, and the five members are an IRL, musical take on the characters from the popular anime series, Sailor Moon . Spawning from the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon world, SG5 (“Sailor Guardians 5”) call themselves an “intergalactic pop supergroup that protects the universe from evil, injustice and negativity.” Their superpower: music, of course. The Supreme Court has been under the lens in a major way after its landmark ruling to reverse Roe v. Wade last week. Dawn Porter , director of documentaries including The Way I See It and John Lewis: Good Trouble , will now explore the history of the court, the justices, decisions and confirmation battles that have shaped the United States, in four-part docuseries Confirmed for Showtime . The series is produced by Porter’s Trilogy Films and Sony Pictures Television and will air in 2023. It comes after Porter struck an overall deal with the Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman-run Industrial Media, which is now owned by Sony. ‘True Detective’: Kali Reis Joins Jodie Foster In Season 4 As It Gets HBO Greenlight
Actor, professional boxer and Indigenous rights advocate Kali Reis is set to star opposite Jodie Foster in True Detective : Night Country. With both leads in place, Season 4 of the crime thriller anthology series has received a formal greenlight by HBO . Reis recently burst into the Hollywood scene with her acting debut in the indie film Catch the Fair One, on which she also helped develop the story with director Josef Kubota Wladyka.
