EXCLUSIVE : Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment , Crazy Rich Asians producer SK Global , Jeff Sagansky and Florence Sloan have teamed to launch Jaya Entertainment , a content company focused on developing, producing and financing premium international series. Top TV producer Kaplan, prominent media investor Sagansky, Sloan and SK Global (via Ivanhoe Pictures) previously partnered in a Mumbai-based venture that produces the hit Hindi-language Netflix series Delhi Crime , which won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series and returns for a second season on the streamer later this year. Kilian Kerwin, formerly EVP International Production at SK Global, will helm the day-to-day operations of Jaya, which will initially focus its efforts in India and Israel. EXCLUSIVE: Bong Joon Ho’s follow-up film to his Oscar-winning Parasite is gaining quite the ensemble, as sources tell Deadline that Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo (whose deals are in final negotiations), along with Naomi Ackie , are joining Robert Pattinson in Bong’s next feature at Warner Bros . The untitled film is based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Bong will write, direct and produce for his production company Offscreen, alongside Kate Street Picture Company’s Dooho Choi and Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, as part of the latter’s overall deal with Warner Bros. The film reteams Bong and Choi with Brad Pitt’s Plan B following their successful collaboration on the director’s 2017 film Okja . The book was published in February by St. Martin, a Macmillan imprint. Endeavour , the long-running Inspector Morse prequel series, is ending after nine seasons. British broadcaster ITV and PBS Masterpiece revealed the news in a video, which you can see below. The series, which comes from writer Russell Lewis, stars Shaun Evans and Roger Allam. Season 9 is currently filming in Oxford. The series began as a single film in 2012 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Morse and has run for 33 episodes across nine seasons. Shaun Evans plays young Endeavour Morse, beginning his career as a detective constable, and later as a detective sergeant, with the Oxford City Police CID. Roger Allam plays DCI Fred Thursday, Morse’s mentor. Season 8 will air in the U.S. on PBS Masterpiece between June 19 and July 3 and will be followed by three more episodes for Season 9. The hit comedy series recently wrapped its first season and has been renewed for a second season on CBS.
