There are SPOILERS ahead, so proceed with caution. Fighting your own clone is a time-honored tradition in superhero stories. Christopher Reeve did it in Superman III , Chris Evans did it in Avengers: Endgame . And now, Paul Bettany has done the same as two different versions of the android Vision in the final episode of WandaVision . In a recent interview, Bettany admitted he was afraid of filming his scenes as the two Vision(s). "To differentiate between the two characters in a way that didn't just feel superficial... I mean, of course, one is purple, and one is white, so you have that going for you. But I wanted [The Vision] to be familiar and yet at the same time kind of intimidating. And for some reason, I was really intimidated by the idea. I kept putting off dealing with it because I knew we weren't shooting it till later. I was letting some ideas percolate because he has a very quick arc for where The Vision needs to go. He has a big turn to get through. I was … [Read more...] about One WandaVision Finale Scene Had Paul Bettany So Frightened, He Couldn’t Learn His Lines

‘Raya And The Last Dragon’ Debuting To $8M As Pic Hits Disney+ & NYC Reopens: Why The Industry Is Greatly Concerned
Saturday AM Update: Updated with NYC B.O. data Even with three new wide releases at this weekend’s box office, and New York City finally reopening, numbers still aren’t at pre-pandemic levels, but there’s a lot of drama going on. Let’s start with Disney ’s theatrical day and date Disney+ release of animated pic Raya and the Last Dragon which looks to be leading the weekend with a studio-reported $2.5M Friday and an industry weekend estimate of $8.3M at 2,045 theaters. These numbers are slightly less than the $3M Friday and $9M-$10M we were hearing about, and they’re definitely less than the $14.1M that Warner Bros’ same day HBO Max release of Tom & Jerry posted last weekend. Raya ‘s opening weekend is also less than Croods: A New Age ‘s 3-day opening over its Thanksgiving stretch which posted $9.7M. And that’s definitely because Disney did not reach a deal with No. 3 chain Cinemark, as we first told you (thus, losing around 250 bookings), Harkins, and … [Read more...] about ‘Raya And The Last Dragon’ Debuting To $8M As Pic Hits Disney+ & NYC Reopens: Why The Industry Is Greatly Concerned

Poet Amanda Gorman Tailed By Security Who Felt She Looked ‘Suspicious’
Getty Amanda Gorman , the poet who stole the show at President Biden 's inauguration, says she went from hero to suspect, adding it's a reality of what Black girls are forced to endure. Amanda was walking home Friday -- apparently in L.A. -- when a security guard seemingly felt she was a threat and followed her. When she got to her home, she says he demanded to know if she lived there because "you look suspicious." Amanda says she showed the guard her keys and went inside, but that's not the end of the story. After the guard realized she lived there, there was no apology ... nothing. I AM A THREAT: a threat to injustice, to inequality, to ignorance. Anyone who speaks the truth and walks with hope is an obvious and fatal danger to the powers that be."
