On September 11, 2020, The New York Times published an obituary for Shere Hite, the renowned sex researcher and author, noting that her work “helped awaken women to their sexual power and advance the Second Wave of feminism.” One of the readers of that obituary was filmmaker Nicole Newnham , and it became the spark that set her on a journey to document a woman who sold almost 50 million books worldwide but who faced such a backlash over her research that it drove her into exile. The result of that cinematic quest is the film The Disappearance of Shere Hite , which just premiered in U.S. Documentary Competition at the Sundance Film Festival. For Newnham, the Oscar-nominated director of Crip Camp (co-directed with Jim LeBrecht), the new film amounted to a rediscovery of Hite. MTV Documentary Films has acquired worldwide rights to Sundance world-premiering love story The Eternal Memory , director Maite Alberdi ’s follow-up to Oscar nominated doc The Mole Agent. The price is said to be approaching $3 million in a competitive situation with a number of bidders. The film, which screened in the Sundance Film Festival World Documentary Competition section,  will have its international premiere at the Berlinale next month in the Panorama Section and the company is planning a theatrical release and robust awards campaign later this year. The Eternal Memory was produced by Maite Alberdi, Juan De Dios Larraín, Pablo Larraín and Rocío Jadue. Executive producers are Marcela Santibañez, Daniela Sandoval, Nicholas Hooper, Julie Goldman, Christopher Clements, Chandra Jessee and Rebecca Lichtenfeld. Audrina Patridge, maybe known best for her starring role on MTV reality series The Hills and reboot The Hills: New Beginnings, has signed with A3 Artists Agency for representation. TV personality, podcast host and author Patridge rose to fame on The Hills which chronicled the lives of several young men and women living in Los Angeles. It aired for six seasons on MTV from 2006-2010. It was followed by reboot The Hills: New Beginnings which aired for two seasons from 2019-2021. Patridge currently co-hosts popular podcast Was it Real? The Hills Rewatch , with former co-stars Brody Jenner, Frankie Delgado and Heidi Montag. Each week, they break down a particular episode, and give fans the real lowdown behind-the-scenes on what was actually real and what was fake. UPDATE 9:27 AM PT -- According to our sources, King's fiancée is telling friends King had been drinking and smoked weed in the hours before his death. Rodney King -- the man who was at the center of the infamous Los Angeles riots -- was found dead this morning in Rialito, CA. He was 47. According to our sources, King's fiancée found him dead at the bottom of the pool ( see photo of the pool below, taken today ). Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they responded to a call at 5:25 AM PT. We're told they physically removed King from the pool and attempted CPR. Our sources say he was pronounced dead at 6:11 AM.
