7 minutes ago It's been a tumultuous year for fans of Fox's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. After the comedy was axed by the network in a live-action sitcom bloodbath just a few days before its Season 5 finale, it was saved soon after and given a chance to continue at NBC. Of course, this sudden save meant that its new network would need to shuffle things around to make room for the half-hour, so Brooklyn Nine-Nine was held until mid-season, meaning that we'd have a longer wait for Season 6 to hit the small screen. Well, that time is almost here, and now a new trailer just dropped that pays hilarious homage to that other long-running cop show on NBC: Law & Order: SVU. Take a look! Come on, people. If you aren't watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, can't you at least tell now that you've been wasting the last several years of your life? I mean, this promotional video is perfection. From the distinctive font with blue and red shadows, to the voice over, the familiar strains of that theme song and … [Read more...] about Brooklyn Nine-Nine Gets The Law And Order: SVU Treatment In Hilarious New Trailer

4 minutes ago Spoilers ahead for the Season 20 premiere of Law & Order: SVU. Olivia Benson has been facing the worst of the worst criminals for a couple of decades, and the Season 20 premiere may have indicated that she's going to find herself on the bench in the not-too-distant future. The premiere was a gigantic two-hour event that started off as a horrifying rape case and then transformed into a school shooting case, perpetrated by the victim who was denied justice after a court failure by the still-mourning A.D.A. Peter Stone. Olivia was struggling with an issue she hasn't really had to face before, and it didn't have anything to do with the heinous sexually-based offense she investigates. She found herself getting winded and falling short when trying to chase down suspects. Normally, one of the SVU detectives getting winded in a chase sequence wouldn't really be that big of a deal. They do a lot of running and jumping and tackling when trying to apprehend the bad … [Read more...] about Is Law And Order: SVU Preparing To Bench Olivia Benson?
11 minutes ago The Law & Order franchise may consist of procedurals, but there's always room for some character development, and Special Victims Unit just cast a Scandal alum as a love interest that should give one character some extra depth in the upcoming twentieth season. George Newbern of Scandal fame is joining Law & Order: SVU in the fall, and he'll be a love interest for none other than Detective Amanda Rollins. Here's what you need to know. George Newbern will play a character by the name of Dr. Al Pollack, who is a former flame of Amanda Rollins' that turns up in her life. As a wealthy doctor with good looks and no shortage of charm, Pollack comes across as an very eligible romantic partner, but Amanda knows that he has a wandering eye that has gotten him into trouble in the past. While their relationship was "tumultuous" in earlier attempts, perhaps things will go differently if they give it one more chance. Or maybe it will be as much of a trainwreck as before. … [Read more...] about Law And Order: SVU Casts Scandal Alum As New Love Interest

6 minutes ago It's that time of year again when networks make the difficult decisions about which shows will be renewed and which will be cancelled. Some shows have already gotten bad news, but NBC just delivered some very good news for fans of four big series. Law and Order: Special Victims Unit will carry on into Season 20, and all three Chicago shows scored renewals as well. It's a good time to be a fan of Dick Wolf shows on NBC! Law and Order: SVU has reinvented itself somewhat in the second half of Season 19 following the departure of Raul Esparza as A.D.A. Rafael Barba and the arrival of Philip Winchester as replacement A.D.A. Peter Stone. The sexually based offenses are as heinous as ever and the dedicated detectives work as hard as ever, so there was no sign that SVU has been running out of steam. NBC is clearly satisfied with how SVU has performed, and SVU executive producer Michael Chernuchin should be happy. Chernuchin suggested earlier this year that the show last at … [Read more...] about Law And Order: SVU, Chicago P.D., And More Renewed By NBC
