The Berlin Film Festival today announced that Sean Penn will debut the documentary he shot in Ukraine with Volodymyr Zelenskyy at Berlin next month. The doc is titled Superpower and documents Ukraine and President Zelenskyy at the start of Russia’s invasion. Penn shares a co-director credit with Aaron Kaufman. Introducing the doc, Berlin Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian said: “This is a documentary film done under very difficult circumstances, but it is also a film that tells the role of art and artists in difficult times.” Chatrian added that the film features footage of Penn in Ukraine in November 2021, filming with Zelenskyy, as well as footage of the actor/filmmaker in the country’s capital Kyiv when Russia’s invasion began. Penn State’s Pat Chambers Resigns, New Allegations After ‘Noose’ Comments
Getty Penn State basketball coach Pat Chambers resigned Wednesday -- following an investigation into new allegations of misconduct. The University says the new allegations were made following a report by The Undefeated back in July that Chambers made racially insensitive comments to a black player. The player, Rasir Bolton , told The Undefeated that Chambers made a comment to him referencing a metaphorical "noose" back in 2019. Bolton claims Chambers approached him and said, "I want to be a stress reliever for you. You can talk to me about anything. I need to get some of this pressure off you. I want to loosen the noose that's around your neck." Bolton said of Chambers' comment, "Due to other interactions with Coach, I knew this was no slip of the tongue." Former NBCUniversal exec Heather Olander is on the verge of joining the broadcaster to oversee its unscripted programming, Deadline understands. It comes after Deadline revealed that the Nexstar-owned company was in the hunt for an alternative chief to work alongside recently appointed President of Entertainment Brad Schwartz. Olander, who could start as soon as next month, will have an interesting job on her hands as the network is set to increase the amount of unscripted content it airs as it looks to program more cost-effectively. White House Says More Documents Marked As Classified Were Found At Joe Biden’s Home
A lawyer for President Joe Biden said that additional documents with classified markings were found at his Wilmington home, after previously saying that a single page was found in that room. Richard Sauber, a White House lawyer, said in a statement on Saturday that because he has a security clearance, he went to the Wilmington home on Thursday evening to secure a single document that was found a day earlier. “While I was transferring it to the DOJ official who accompanied me, five additional pages with classification markings were discovered among the material with it, for a total of six pages. The DOJ officials with me immediately took possession of them.” Biden’s team had previously acknowledged the discovery of documents with classified markings in the garage of the residence. Justice Department Seizes Additional Documents In Search Of Joe Biden’s Wilmington Home
A Justice Department search of President Joe Biden ’s Wilmington home resulted in the seizure of six items with classified markings, some of which were from his time in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as vice president. In a statement, Biden’s personal attorney Bob Bauer said that the DOJ took possession of handwritten notes by Biden “for further review.” Bauer said that the Justice Department conducted the search on Friday from 9:45 AM to 10:30 PM and it “covered all working, living and storage spaces” in the home. DOJ Search Of Joe Biden’s Rehoboth Beach Home Turns Up No Classified Documents, Attorney Says
A Justice Department search of Joe Biden ’s Reboboth Beach home did not turn up any documents with classified markings, according to the president’s personal attorney. The search on Wednesday was conducted “in coordination and cooperation” with Biden’s legal team, attorney Bob Bauer said in a statement. The search lasted from 8:30 AM ET to noon. While no documents with the classified markings were found, the DOJ “took for further review some materials and handwritten notes that appear to relate” to Biden’s time as vice president, Bauer said.
