Outfest has announced the complete lineup for its 40th-anniversary Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Film Festival , which will take place from July 14-24 at multiple locations throughout Los Angeles. More than 200 films, representing 29 countries, will screen as part of this year’s lineup. 42 will make their world premieres, including the doc Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story from Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films and Pulse Films; the UK feature Phea , starring Sherika Sherard; Mercedes Kane’s Art and Pep ; and Scout Durwood’s Youtopia. Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool is all set to make its MCU debut with the third film in the Deadpool franchise. While not much is known about the project the writers had assured fans that the film will remain the same at its core. Now, writer Rhett Reese shared an update on the project and said that the film will be making fun of MCU releases. The 66th BFI London Film Festival has set Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical as its Opening Night Gala. Directed by Matthew Warchus and starring Emma Thompson , Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, Sindhu Vee and Alisha Weir as the eponymous Matilda, the film will have its world premiere on October 5 at the Southbank Centre in the Royal Festival Hall. Sony Pictures UK and TriStar release theatrically in the UK on December 2. Netflix will release the film elsewhere during the holiday season. The Toronto Film Festival said Wednesday that Netflix ’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery , Rian Johnson ’s follow-up to his hit 2019 murder mystery pic, will world premiere at this year’s edition of the festival, which runs September 8-18.
