Ashton Kutcher, the popular actor has opened up about being diagnosed with a "rare form of vasculitis", an autoimmune disease that left him unable to see, hear or walk. The Jobs actor shared the diagnosis in the monday episode of the national geographic show, Running Wild With Bear Grylls: The Challenge . In a clip shared by the entertainment programme Access Hollywood, Ashton Kutcher said: " Like two years ago, i had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis, that like knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out like all my equilibrium. Jane Lynch will depart Broadway ’s Funny Girl even earlier than expected, producers announced today. The former Glee actor will end her run as “Mrs. Brice” on Sunday, August 14, several weeks earlier than the Sept. 4 date most recently announced (that date, too, was earlier than the originally planned Sept. 25 exit). According to producers, Lynch had a long-scheduled vacation set to begin on Monday, August 15 and was set to return to the show on Tuesday, August 23, before departing for the Creative Arts Emmys on Thursday, September 1. “Rather than return for one week of performances, the producers have agreed to adjust her final performance to Sunday, August 14,” according to a statement. EXCLUSIVE: Playwright Theresa Rebeck , who created the stage musical-themed NBC series Smash , has joined the real-life Broadway -bound musical adaptation of the 1988 film comedy Working Girl , producers announced today. Rebeck will write the book of the musical, said producers Robyn Goodman and Josh Fiedler of Aged In Wood Productions and Kumiko Yoshii. While Rebeck has had four plays produced on Broadway ( Bernhardt/Hamlet, Dead Accounts, Seminar, Mauritius ), Working Girl would mark her Broadway debut as a book writer for a musical. Ukrainian Producers Group Finishes Shoot For Invasion Documentary ‘Mariupol. Unlost Hope’
Ukraine’s battle against invading Russian forces is now in its sixth month, and the country’s filmmakers remain determined to document the horrors facing its people. The Organization of Ukrainian Producers (OUP) has finished filming documentary Mariupol. Unlost Hope , which tells the stories of ordinary people who spent the first month of the invasion in the city of Mariupol. Director is Maksym Lytvinov. Below you can watch an extended 10-minute trailer. Mariupol, in the east of Ukraine close to the Russian border, has been decimated since fighting began. The city’s mayor has said 21,000 have died, while the film puts the number now at 22,000. The Organization of Ukrainian Producers (OUP) is a group of seven Ukrainian producers. In all, the 23 Broadway productions took in $27,682,655 during the week ending August 7, down about 6% from the previous week’s 24-show roster (gone was Company , which closed July 31). Attendance of 212,341 was down about 5% from the previous week. Among the sell-outs, MJ set another house record at the Neil Simon Theatre – the show’s fourth – with a gross of $1,746,901. The Roman Polanski Legal Fight Continues, Now Over Video Of Roger Gunson’s Testimony
If you thought last month’s release of previously sealed testimony by former prosecutor Roger Gunson in the Roman Polanski sex case put an end to legal jousting over the secret sessions, you thought wrong. By way of update, lawyers and others with an interest in the case are now in a tug-of-war over access to the video of Gunson’s deposition, which took place on three separate dates in 2010. So far, only a written transcript of the testimony has been released. But lawyers for journalists Sam Wasson and William Rempel , who won the unsealing in a California Appeals Court decision, went back to that court July 22 with a request for existing video of the sessions. That request was supported by an affidavit from filmmaker Marina Zenovich , whose documentary Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired called attention to claimed misconduct by the Los Angeles legal system in handling Polanski’s case.
