“ Billy Bush will be leaving the Today Show’s 9 AM hour, effective today,” NBC News SVP Noah Oppenheim said this evening in a note to staff. In the carefully worded statement, Oppenheim called Bush “a valued colleague and longtime member of the broader NBC family” adding that they wish him success as he goes forward. In a separate statement, Bush said he was “deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues” adding that he is looking “forward to what lies ahead.” With the announcement, NBC News has said so long to Bush, ridding itself of the Today show anchor heard round the TV news landscape giggling his way through a lewd conversation with Donald Trump about women, including Bush’s then- Access Hollywood co-host Nancy O’Dell. There are about a dozen or so protesters outside Trump Tower in Manhattan waving a huge "Arrest Trump" banner. There's also a giant inflatable caricature of Trump and others are holding signs that read "Go Home Florida Man" and "Indict Trump." Getty It ain't all bad news for 45 in the Democratic stronghold of NYC -- a throng of Trump supporters also gathered nearby pumping up his potential return to the Oval Office in 2024 . It's unclear what brought Trump, who arrived Sunday night, back to his old stomping grounds ... but it could be tied to his legal problems. 2021’s Senator Tom Cotton must be really upset with 2020 Senator Tom Cotton. For days now, the Republican from Arkansas has been whining to anyone who will listen about “how crazy some of the Democratic ideas” made it into the Covid-19 relief package . Specifically, Cotton has taken issue with the possibility that some prisoners, who’ve recently filed taxes, might actually receive a check. But what Cotton is leaving out in his complaint is his utter hypocrisy. The senator didn’t just vote for stimulus checks for prisoners once, he did so twice while Trump was in office. UPDATED : Stormy Daniels ’ 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper drove the CBS newsmag to 21.3 million viewers, up +111% from last week and its most watched episode since Steve Kroft’s interview with Barack and Michelle Obama in November 2008, shortly after he was elected president. That decade-old interview had attracted 24.5 million viewers, with all three segments devoted to the president-elect and his wife. Previously this morning, Sunday’s 60 Minutes hit 16.3/27 in the 56 Nielsen metered markets – a big night for Stormy, being way up compared with previous Sunday’s  7.6/13. Back on November 16, 2008, the Obamas’ interview clocked a metered-marked 17.4/26. Cooper’s taped interview with Daniels will repeat tonight on his CNN primetime show, AC360 . Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no Stormy Daniels and certainly no Michael Jackson, but their sit-down with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday night was certainly a royal payoff for CBS . The two-hour Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special pulled in 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.1 million viewers for the network in early numbers. Or put another way, right now, that’s more eyeballs than last September’s Primetime Emmys and last week’s Golden Globes put together. Coming in low, the awards ceremonies had 6.4 million and 6.9 million viewers, respectively, and ratings of 1.3 and 1.5 when the dust settled and the final numbers were in. That’s 22% less than the early numbers for Meghan and Harry in total audience and basically even with the Emmys and the Globes’ demo results added up.
