Oscar-winner Halle Berry has signed on to star in and executive produce The Mothership , from Netflix and MRC Film . Oscar-nominated Bridge of Spies screenwriter Matthew Charman wrote the script and will be directing the film for his feature directorial debut. The sci-fi adventure follows Sara Morse (Berry) one year since her husband mysteriously vanished from their rural farm. When she discovers a strange, extraterrestrial object underneath their home, Sara and her kids embark on a race to find their husband, father, and most importantly – the truth. Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing the film under their Automatik banner. Danny Stillman will serve as an exec producer alongside Berry. Pune International Film Festival Aka PIFF’s Registration To Begin From February 16
The online registration process for the upcoming 19th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF), which will be held from March 4th to 11th will begin online from Tuesday, February 16. The film enthusiasts will also be able to do spot registration beginning from Thursday, February 25. This year, the annual film festival organized by Pune Film Foundation and Government of Maharashtra will be held online as well as in theatres and the registration process will be different for both the platforms. The registration fee for participation in the online festival will be Rs.500/- in which 26 selected films will be shown. Whereas the registration fee for watching movies in theatres will be Rs. 600/- where the delegate will be able to watch about 150 films. This year, the films will be shown on 7 screens at 3 venues including PVR on Senapati Bapat Road, National Film Archive of India (NFAI) on Law College Road and Inox in Camp. ViacomCBS spent the afternoon unveiling details about Paramount+, its rebranded streame r that will launch May 4, and now here is a roundup of the television series and feature films that will be available on the service. Paramount+ will feature a content catalog of more than 30,000 episodes, 2,500 movie titles and 1,000-plus live sporting events and news coverage. More than 50 new series across multiple genres will bow during the next two years on the streamer, which promises 7,000 episodes of kids content, 5,000 of reality and 6,000 of comedy. A number of theatrical movies will hit Par+ after a 45-day theatrical window , including Mission: Impossible 7, A Quiet Place Part II and PAW Patrol: The Movie. Inside Out LGBTQ Film Festival Appoints Lauren Howes As Executive Director
Inside Out LGBTQ film festival has selected Lauren Howes (non-binary) as the new Executive Director for the organization. They take on the role which Andria Wilson stepped down from in September 2020. Howes’s role will take effect March 1. In addition to being one of the largest LGBTQ film festivals on North America, Inside Out is the largest promoter and distributor of LGBTQ content in Canada. Howes is a veteran leader in the nonprofit world, bringing more than twenty years of experience to the role. Prior to their new role, Howes was the Executive Director at the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre for the past 14 years.
