Kim Petras marked her win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Sam Smith by reminding folks how she trailblazed her way to the Grammy stage. “Sam graciously wanted me to accept this award because I’m the first transgender woman to win this award,” she announced from stage to huge applause. Harry Styles capped the 65th annual Grammy Awards with a somewhat surprising Album of the Year win for Harry House, wrapping a night that was most memorable for seeing a cherished record fall. Beyoncé came into the Trevor Noah-hosted ceremony in Los Angeles with a leading nine nominations , tying her spouse Jay-Z as the most-nominated act of all time with 88 — and tonight she set the big record. The Queen of Pop became the all-time leader in career Grammys , winning won twice tonight and twice during the preshow. After breaking her tie with Quincy Jones for second place at 28, she got a 32nd career Grammy, topping the conductor Georg Solti, who scored his 31st statuette posthumously in 1999. ‘BTS: Yet To Come’ Sings Green On Screen – Specialty Box Office
K-Pop legend BTS may be on hiatus but fans are decidedly not. Concert film BTS: Yet To Come hit no. 5 at the North American Box office this weekend with $5.1 million on 1,100+ screens, for a cume topping $7.8 million from the first showing Feb. 1. The group announced last year it was planning to take a break. In October, after their one-off live concert to support the bid by Busan, Korea’s second biggest city, for the World Expo 2030, BTS said its seven members were planning to fulfill the Korean government’s mandatory military service and reconvene as a group in 2025. That concert footage has been cut, re-edited and remixed for the big screen. “The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. ‘All Quiet On The Western Front’s Edward Berger Launches Production Outfit & Partners With Fremantle
Oscar-nominated All Quiet on the Western Front director Edward Berger has launched a production outfit and struck a first-look deal with Fremantle. Berger has forged Nine Hours with partner Luke Rivett ( The Tomorrow Man) and producer Jeanne Tremsal ( So Long Daddy, See You in Hell) and the indie will make global TV and film projects. Fremantle will house Nine Hours’ TV projects for the next two years as well as being given second-look access to Berger’s new film pipeline. Berger is fresh off the back of nine Oscar nominations for critically-acclaimed Netflix adaptation All Quiet on the Western Front , which has also secured a record 14 BAFTA noms.
