Vince Ellis Detroit Free Press Published 6:01 AM EST Feb 4, 2019 A special audience awaited Los Angeles Clippers forward Tobias Harris early Saturday evening. Fresh from overcoming a 25-point deficit in beating the Detroit Pistons, 111-101, at Little Caesars Arena, a freshly dressed Harris walked toward the section of seats behind the visitors’ bench. There, more than 100 Detroit-area kids, bearing T-shirts acknowledging their connection to the former Piston, waited anxiously from a few words from Harris. It’s a continuation of the mentorship programs he started while with the Pistons for almost two years. And it showed his determination in keeping the programs going — despite being traded to the Clippers last year in the transaction that brought Blake Griffin to the Pistons. It’s reminiscent of how he has kept the programs going in Orlando after he was traded to the Pistons before the 2016 trade deadline. All of it is evidence of Harris' … [Read more...] about Ex-Piston Tobias Harris wonders: Why am I always traded?

Claire Galofaro, Ap National Writer Updated 6:49 am PST, Monday, January 28, 2019 Brittaney Biggers, whose 20-year-old brother, Landon, died of opioid overdose in 2017, smells a football jersey her brother used to wear in La Quinta, Calif., on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. “It still smells like him,” she says. She had moved in with her parents to save money for her own apartment and planned to stay a couple months. The Terminator first said "I'll be back" in 1984. He was right, several times over, but I can't say I expected him to still be back 35 years later. Turns out, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and franchise co-creator James Cameron are all returning for Terminator 6, a direct sequel to their Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Here's everything we know so far to get you up-to-speed on the 2019 film. What Is The Terminator 6 Release Date? Terminator 6 is being directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and it's currently scheduled to open in theaters on November 1, 2019. That's a slight change from its previous Nov. 22, 2019 release date. The Wonder Woman sequel was going to open on Nov. 1, but moved to June 2020. At this point, Terminator 6 is poised to compete against the Charlie's Angels reboot on the first day of November. The following week in November currently holds releases for Sonic the Hedgehog and Midway. Studios love to shift titles around, but that's the lineup for now. Vince Ellis Detroit Free Press Published 6:01 AM EST Dec 3, 2018 Stanley Johnson rocked Detroit style. Wearing nice glasses, the Pistons fourth-year forward looked ready to enjoy Saturday night following the 111-102 victory over the Golden State Warriors. A bright white jacket and a white shirt accompanied the glasses as he spoke with reporters. Jeans, no socks and stylish kicks completed the look. It was reminiscent of Johnson’s introduction to area media when wore a pink suit to announce his arrival to the Pistons organization. Maybe Detroit swag is a better description. The return of Johnson’s swagger is the top thing I like about the Pistons’ last 10 games — a stretch where there was much to like. The Pistons (13-7) sit fourth in the Eastern Conference — 5½ games clear of the ninth-place … [Read more...] about Detroit Pistons at 20: Stanley Johnson among 3 things I like
