Tony winner Jesse Tyler Ferguson and nominee Jesse Williams are suiting up again as stars of the baseball-themed Take Me Out , which is set to return to Broadway in the fall. The hit revival will re-take the field October 27 at the Schoenfeld Theatre for 14 weeks, it was revealed today. Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg Pleads Guilty In New York Tax Case
Allen Weisselberg , the longtime chief financial officer for the Trump Organization , pleaded guilty on Thursday to 15 charges related to tax fraud and evasion. Weisselberg’s plea requires that he testify against the Trump Organization, as opposed to Donald Trump himself, at an upcoming trial. Weisselberg faces a five month jail sentence on Rikers Island and five years probation, and paying nearly $2 million in taxes, penalty and interest. Last year, New York prosecutors charged Weisselberg and the Trump Organization in an alleged scheme to evade taxes on more than $1.7 million in income. Weisselberg initially pleaded not guilty to the charges. Prosecutors had described a 15-year tax scheme and said the charges include 15 felony counts, including a scheme to defraud, conspiracy, grand larceny and falsifying business records. Deadline already broke the news that star Ellen Pompeo will be scaling back her on-screen presence, appearing in eight episodes next season while remaining an executive producer. Also switching from a series regular to recurring status for Season 19 is Scott Speedman . The news is not surprising; the former Animal Kingdom star had signed a one-year series regular contract for Season 18 as a romantic interest for Pompeo’s Meredith. China’s Bona Film Group Valued At $1.5B In Shenzhen Trading Debut
China’s Bona Film Group , producer of such hits as The Battle At Lake Changjin , made its debut on the Shenzhen stock exchange on Thursday, with shares closing the day at RMB 7.24 ($1.07). This was a 44% increase from the initial public offering price of RMB 5.03 ($0.74) per share and put the market capitalization at just under RMB 10B ($1.47B), according to the South China Morning Post . The company raised RMB 1.38B ($203M) from the deal. Bona returned to the China exchange after exiting the Nasdaq and going private in 2016. It had previously become the first Chinese film studio to trade on the Nasdaq beginning in 2010. During the pandemic, Bona was behind China’s top-grossing movie ever, The Battle At Lake Changjin and its sequel, The Battle At Lake Changjin II (aka Water Gate Bridge ). Recently, during the promotions of Dobaaraa , filmmaker Anurag Kashyap opened up about India's official entry to Oscars and said that he hopes The Kashmir Files does not become India's official entry to the Academy Awards. ‘Caroline’s Comedy Hour’ Revival Set As Scott Koondel Acquires Rights To 1990s Standup Series
A popular standup TV franchise is making a comeback. Scott Koondel ’s Sox Entertainment has acquired global rights to Caroline’s Comedy Hour, which ran on A&E Network from 1989-96. Koondel, former CBS Chief Content and Licensing Officer, plans to produce new installments, which he will shop alongside 100 library episodes from the show’s original run as a lower-cost comedy programming alternative for cable networks and streamers. Koondel was retained to distribute the package of new and old episodes by Caroline’s owner Caroline Hirsch.
