Eric Clapton , who last summer declared that he reserved the right to cancel performances at venues where audience members were required to show proof of Covid vaccination, has indeed canceled two shows, but for another reason: Clapton just tested positive for the coronavirus. The announcement of the show cancelations in Zurich and Milan was made on Clapton’s official Facebook page last night. “Eric Clapton is unfortunately suffering from Covid having tested positive shortly after the second concert at the Royal Albert Hall,” the post reads.  He has been told by his medical advisors that if he were to resume traveling and performing too soon, it could substantially delay his full recovery. This is a pretty meta casting — Kevin Can Wait alum Erinn Hayes is set to guest star on the upcoming second and final season of AMC ’s Kevin Can F**k Himself . Hayes will appear in an as-yet undisclosed role alongside series stars Annie Murphy, Mary Hollis Inboden, Eric Petersen and Alex Bonifer. Hayes played James’ wife Donna on the first season of Kevin James’ CBS comedy series Kevin Can Wait . She was let go at the end of the season and replaced by James’ former King of Queens co-star Leah Remini. Hayes’ exit was met with backlash by fans, there was a Season 2 ratings decline for Kevin Can Wait, which was eventually canceled. Congress held its first hearing on UFOs in over 50 years on Tuesday, and it turns out there have been a lot more reported UFO — or UAP, unidentified aerial phenomenon — sightings than previously believed. A Navy intelligence official told lawmakers that the military’s database on reported sightings of UAPs now contains about 400 incidents, 250 more than the 143 included in a report released last year . Despite the uptick in reported incidents, Bray said the military has yet to find evidence of anything “nonterrestrial in origin.” One reason for the increase is that people are now describing encounters that they didn’t report at the time, said Scott Bray, deputy director of Naval intelligence. The military has also been working to remove the stigma associated with reporting UAPs, and making it easier to do so. “Navy and air force crews now have step-by-step procedures for reporting UAPs on their kneeboard, in the cockpit,” Bray added, according to NPR . The XFL has tossed in the towel on its first season, officially declaring that there’s no hope of bringing back games this year. “The COVID-19 pandemic, and the most recent local and state regulations, have left the XFL no choice but to officially cancel the remainder of the 2020 season,” the league said in a statement. “This decision has been made with the health and safety of the entire XFL family as our top priority. Madison Cawthorn has lost the Republican primary to represent North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District, all but ensuring the 26-year-old’s career in the House of Representatives is over after two erratic years riddled with controversy. Cawthorn conceded the race to State Sen. Chuck Edwards on Tuesday night. The Associated Press confirmed later that Edwards did indeed win, and did indeed clear the 30-percent threshold the state requires to avoid a runoff. Cawthorn took advantage of the runoff format during his successful 2020 campaign after having nabbed second place in the first round of voting by a slim margin. He won’t get the chance this year.
