Oprah Winfrey Passes On Message From Prince Harry: Neither The Queen Or Prince Philip Made Remarks About Archie’s Skin Color

· March 8, 2021 ·

Oprah Winfrey joined CBS This Morning today to reflect on her bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — and in doing so, cast more light on one of the most shocking revelations from the conversation: That a member of the royal family raised questions about the color of their son’s skin. Markle revealed in the CBS special on Sunday that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie’s] skin was going to be when he was born.” Prince Harry added: “That conversation, I’m never going to share. It was awkward and I was a bit shocked.” He did not identify the individuals involved in the exchange, but Winfrey told Gayle King that the Duke of Sussex wanted to make clear through her that it was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip. Int’l Critics Line: Todd McCarthy On Bosnia’s Oscar-Shortlisted ‘Quo Vadis, Aida?’

· March 8, 2021 ·

The nightmarish cruelty of the Bosnian Serbs’ genocidal assault on the Bosnian Muslim town of Srebrenica in July, 1995 is vividly and nightmarishly rendered in the curiously titled Quo Vadis, Aida? Ferocious and lucid, director Jasmila Zbanic ’s film relentlessly pushes to the heart of the matter while accompanying a local UN translator who does everything she can to help while also trying to arrange for the safety of her husband and two sons. It’s a despairing, nay, devastating piece of work that leaves one drained, exhausted, appalled and admiring, which is the desired and only plausible reaction to Bosnia’s International Feature Oscar hopeful . It debuted last fall at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. Zbannic’s previous feature, Grbavica: The Land Of My Dreams , won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival in 2006.
