Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey are boarding the podcasting bus. The duo are moving into the audio medium with an investigative audio series about the Synanon cult. The Sunshine Place tells the story of the former California-based experimental drug rehab facility and community that morphed into a dangerous and violent cult, led by its messianic founder Charles E. Diedrich. The series comes from Team Downey and Wink Pictures for Audacy-owned Cadence13. The Sunshine Place will tell the story of Synanon from the inside out, and by the people who lived it, charting its rise and exploring its decade-long reign over 1960s and ‘70s counterculture through the recollections of members, survivors and dedicated chroniclers. The shake-up sees the departure of Discovery Communications Deutschland Deputy Managing Director Alberto Horta . The company has hired Jackie Levine , formerly President of Robert Zemeckis’s ImageMovers, as Head of Television and Film. Levine will lead a new division to oversee the audio-to-screen pipeline for Audible Originals. She will identify projects to adapt and package with talent. She will report to Head of Content Acquisition and Development, Pat Shah. Actor Vicky Kaushal's father and stunt director Sham Kaushal in his recent interview with a leading tabloid, revealed that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2003. He recalled how he experienced pain in his stomach after returning from Ladakh post shooting for Hrithik Roshan's Lakshya. Sham recalled, "I was unconscious. There was an infection in my stomach. The doctors had cut out a piece of the stomach and sent it for tests. It was diagnosed as cancer. I was not sure whether I would survive or not. I have not shared this with anyone." He told the tabloid that he stayed in the hospital for 50 days before resuming work. The doctors kept testing him for a year. Luckily, the cancer didn't spread.
