Pixar have announced a Monsters, Inc. TV series will be released next year on Disney's upcoming streaming service. Monsters At Work will see the original cast returning with John Goodman and Billy Crystal reprising their iconic roles of Sulley and Mike. Professional 'scarers' Mike and Sulley discovered at the conclusion of the 2001 animated classic that laughter produced more energy than scaring the young children. The new series will pick up six months later when the lovable duo are busy in charge of the Laughter Floor. Mad Men actor Ben Feldman stars as junior mechanic Tylor Tuskmon - who aspires to work alongside his idols, Mike and Sulley, but faces a series of adventures in his bid of achieving his dream job. After rising to fame in 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Kelly Marie Tran will appear in Monsters At Work as Tylor's best friend, Val Little. A host of characters will return from the original movie including Mike's girlfriend Celia, and stern receptionist Roz. Disney+ is … [Read more...] about Monsters, Inc. The running times for the six final episodes of Game of Thrones have reportedly been revealed at a meeting for a French TV network. French film magazine Premiere reported that the first two instalments of the show’s forthcoming eighth season will be an hour in length, while the final four episodes will last 80 minutes each. The publication shared the news in a series of posts on their official Twitter account earlier this week, following a presentation hosted by French TV channel OCS. Premiere initially shared an image of the backdrop used for the presentation, which featured a handful of facts about the upcoming episodes, which appeared to suggest that the final season would be neatly divided into six 90 minute segments. However, the magazine’s second message contradicted this. The tweet, which was written in French, read: “OCS TV verbally explained that the first two episodes of the final season [of] GameOfThrones were going to last 60 minutes, and the following … [Read more...] about Game of Thrones season 8: have new episode lengths been unveiled?
Disney CEO Bob Iger says that Disney+ isn't going to be making any big budget original Star Wars movies. Many were expecting the new streaming platform to get into the business of making original movies from the franchise to compete with Netflix, but Iger says that isn't the case at all, and for obvious reasons. Disney+ will make its debut at the end of the year and it will already have The Mandalorian, which is its big budget live-action Star Wars series that is currently filming. In a new interview, Bob Iger talked about the upcoming Disney+ streaming platform and its goals in regard to Star Wars. After Solo: A Star Wars Story underperformed at the box office, Disney and Lucasfilm reassessed their plans with the franchise and the anthology movies that they had planned. One of those projects was the Obi-Wan movie, which was rumored to have a future home on Disney+. But, Iger shot that rumor down and discussed the future of big budget Star Wars movies. He had this to say. Star Wars … [Read more...] about Disney+ Won’t Be Making Original Star Wars Movies to Compete with Netflix

Like Martin Scorsese, whose Netflix-backed “The Irishman” reunites our greatest living filmmaker with old cronies Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel, and tosses Al Pacino into the bargain. It’s a mob epic that spans decades, with a lot of digital de-aging, at a price tag that’s been estimated somewhere between $140 and $175 million. Or Quentin Tarantino, who will apply his always distinctive, film-geek sensibility to that most notorious of showbiz-adjacent crimes, the Manson Murders. “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” boasts its own superstar cast of Brad Pitt, Leonardo … [Read more...] about 2019 movie preview: Marvel looms large, but look who else is prepping releases
