Damar Hamlin returned to the Buffalo Bills training facility Saturday, where he visited his teammates for the first time since being discharged from a Buffalo hospital after collapsing during a January 2 game against the Bengals. Matt Milano, a Bills linebacker, posted an image of Hamlin at the facility embracing another member of the team. Hamlin is standing upright and smiling. The image has been shared widely across social media platforms. An unnamed source close to the NFL team confirmed to the Associated Press that Hamlin’s visit did indeed take place on Saturday. Hamlin was released on Monday from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he had been under care since he collapsed during a January 2 game against the Bengals. Van Conner , the Screaming Trees co-founding bassist who played on the rock band’s hits including “All I Know” and “Nearly Lost You,” died Tuesday of pneumonia. He was 55. His brother and bandmate, Gary Lee Conner, posted the news on social media. “He was one of the closest friends I ever had and I loved him immensely,” the guitarist wrote on Facebook . “I will miss him forever and ever and ever… .” Screaming Trees formed in Washington State in the mid-1980s and recorded a half-dozen indie albums before signing with Epic Records in 1990 as the grunge scene was coalescing around such groups as Mudhoney, the Melvins, Soundgarden and Nirvana. The band’s major-label debut disc failed to catch fire, but the follow-up — 1992’s Sweet Oblivion — was its breakthrough. Damar Hamlin made an in-person appearance to cheer on his Buffalo Bill teammates in a critical playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The safety was seen going into Highmark Stadium for the first time since his life-threatening medical emergency to wish the Bills good luck in the divisional round game. After greeting his fellow Bills in the locker room before kickoff, Hamlin was taken to a private suite to enjoy the game. When Bills fans noticed Hamlin was in the building, the crowd cheered him on and he had a heart sign gesture in receipt of all the love he was getting. Ultimately, the Bills were defeated by the Bengals with the final score of 27-10. The Bengals would continue to the next round while the Bills season ended tonight. UPDATE , with press conference : The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has released photos and a description of the man suspected in the shooting deaths of five men and five women last night in Monterey Park in an area that had hosted a Lunar New Year’s eve celebration. At least ten additional victims were transported to local hospitals, and are listed in various conditions from stable to critical. The shooting occurred at 10:20 p.m. Saturday on West Garvey Avenue following a major festival for Asian communities. A subsequent incident occurred about 20 minutes later when an armed man entered a dance hall in the nearby city of Alhambra.
