Jimmy Fallon ’s NBC competition series That’s My Jam has sold to France’s TF1, marking the show’s debut international adaptation outside of the U.S just a week after its first episode. TF1 Productions and U.S. producer Universal Television Alternative Studio will produce the local version, with production commencing next year. The show is licensed by NBCUniversal Formats. That’s My Jam draws on Fallon’s Tonight Show musical segments such as Wheel of Musical Impressions, Musical Genre Challenge and Slay It Don’t Spray It, and the French version will similarly see celebrity contestants face off against each other in musical-inspired games. Fantasy Island star Roselyn Sanchez has been tapped to co-host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest in Puerto Rico. The show also will feature Reggaeton superstar and San Juan native Daddy Yankee in a hometown performance. Puerto Rico will serve as the inaugural destination for the show’s first-ever Spanish-language countdown. The new year’s bash will take place on the grounds of the Puerto Rico Convention Center at DISTRITO T-Mobile, Puerto Rico’s newest entertainment and nightlife complex. The show will air Friday, Dec. 31, live on ABC at 8 p.m. EST. Puerto Rico’s countdown will occur at 11 p.m. EST/12 a.m. AST. ViacomCBS and CJ ENM have struck a global strategic partnership that will see the pair co-develop and co-finance scripted series and movies, while Paramount + will launch in South Korea next year. The U.S. and South Korean conglomerates unveiled a string of ways in which they will “leverage combined global reach, production capabilities, world-renowned IP and hit-making pedigree” this afternoon. They revealed that Paramount+ will launch in South Korea next year as an exclusive bundle with Parasite distributor CJ ENM’s streamer TVING, marking the platform’s debut entry to the Asian market. Vox Cinemas , the Middle East’s largest exhibition chain, has unveiled an ambitious plan to produce 25 Arabic movies in the next five years. The announcement was made at the inaugural Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, where Vox Cinemas is the exclusive cinema partner. Vox Cinemas, which is owned by Emirati businessman and retail mogul Majid Al Futtaim, says the move is part of the company’s wider commitment to boost homegrown film production and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Film Commission’s recently launched strategy to develop the country’s burgeoning cinema sector. London looks set to get a fresh injection of film and TV production space in the form of RD Studios , a 45,000 square foot development being built in Park Royal. The £20M ($26.5M) development (a combination of capital and lease costs) is being spearheaded by Ryan Dean, the founder of RD Content, a production company with offices in London, New York, Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Funding is coming directly from the RD group. The site will be housed at Premier Park in Park Royal, West London, about 10 miles from Soho. According to the company, the build will feature five sound-proofed stages, alongside hair, makeup and wardrobe facilities, on-site catering, green rooms and lighting and camera hire. All of the stages will feature a fully automated truss, allowing for rigging work at ground level, and a drive-in stage door enabling large set constructions to enter and exit the stages.
