CNN will start showing the post-show Overtime segments from HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher as part of its Friday edition of CNN Tonight . The segments will start this Friday at 11:30 PM ET. The Overtime segments have up to now been posted online and promoted to viewers of Real Time . They feature Maher and his guests continuing their discussion on a range of topics and answering viewer questions. The scheduling of the segments is the latest move by CNN Worldwide chairman and CEO Chris Licht to bolster the network’s primetime and late-night lineup. He has not yet named a permanent show for the 9 PM ET timeslot, and sources say that one of the ideas considered has been to schedule a non-traditional host, such as a comedian, for that time period. But a range of options have been considered. EXCLUSIVE : Michael Jackson will be played by the late icon’s 26-year old nephew Jaafar Jackson in the Antoine Fuqua -directed film biopic for Lionsgate . Fuqua just posted a confirmation on Instagram. The singer and songwriter is the son of Jermaine Jackson , who is the brother of Michael and member of The Jackson 5. Jaafar has been singing and dancing since age 12, and has showcased himself singing tunes from Sam Cooke to Marvin Gaye, along with originals. As Deadline revealed last week, the Emancipation helmer signed on to next direct Michael , which has a script by John Logan . The film’s being produced by Graham King , who turned the Freddie Mercury Queen story into the blockbuster Bohemian Rhapsody . Paramount Television is pulling another marquee title from Paramount’s movie library for a series adaptation with top original auspices attached. The company is developing a television adaptation of the film noir classic, American Gigolo, with Jerry Bruckheimer , who was a producer of the 1980 movie with Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton, executive producing. The film’s director and writer, Paul Schrader, will serve as an executive consultant. “With its signature noir aesthetic, American Gigolo has remained a deeply entertaining, psychological thriller and I’m thrilled to partner with (Paramount’s) Brad (Grey) and Amy (Powell) on remaking it into a television series,” said Bruckheimer. Jerry Bruckheimer Television’s Jonathan Littman will be an executive producer, KristieAnne Reed will serve as co-executive producer, and Michael Azzolino will produce.
