Foo Fighters won every Grammy they were nominated for at the ceremony on Sunday, April 3. The band won Best Rock Performance for “Making a Fire,” Best Rock Song for “Waiting on a War,” and Best Rock Album for Medicine at Midnight . The wins reportedly make them the most-awarded American band in Grammy history. There was a brief montage to celebrate the band’s drummer Taylor Hawkins , who died on March 25. The video blended interviews and backstage home movies with live footage, ending in an audience singalong of the group’s “My Hero.” The news arrives days after the Foos pulled out of a previously scheduled Grammys performance after the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins (they also canceled the rest of their shows for 2022). Jack Sussman, executive vice president of specials, music, and live events at CBS — which broadcasts the Grammys — revealed that they are working on a tribute to the Foo Fighters drummer following his death last week. “We will honor his memory in … [Read more...] about Grammys Pay Tribute to Taylor Hawkins as Foo Fighters Sweep Awards

Singer Miguel — I DON’T Regret Frank Ocean Grammy Diss
If he could go back in time, singer Miguel STILL wouldn't give Frank Ocean a standing ovation for beating him at the Grammys ... telling TMZ, it's just his competitive nature. You'll recall, Miguel lost to Frank for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the Grammy Awards this year ... and while everyone stood to clap for Frank, Miguel remained seated. Chris Brown also lost to Frank, and remained seated as well. Miguel was out in L.A. yesterday when we asked if he had any lingering feelings of guilt for dissing Frank ... and let's just say, he wasn't feeling too apologetic. Nevertheless, Miguel did offer Frank his belated congratulations ... kinda. … [Read more...] about Singer Miguel — I DON’T Regret Frank Ocean Grammy Diss
Ahead of BET Awards, Lil Nas X Details ‘Painful’ History With Network
Lil Nas X ’s criticism of BET after not garnering any nominations at this year’s BET Awards has arguably overshadowed the awards themselves. Nas has made his disapproval abundantly clear, from noting “the bigger problem of homophobia in the black community” earlier this month , to the release of the song “Late to Da Party” on Friday complete with a “Fuck BET” chorus line and album artwork featuring a urine-soaked BET Award in a toilet. The surprise shutout, however, wasn’t the beginning of any skirmish between Lil Nas X and BET, but rather the latest in an already shaky relationship over a year in the making. As the grammy-winning rapper and multiple members of his team claim to Rolling Stone, before getting the go-ahead to perform at last year’s award show — where Lil Nas X would make headlines after kissing one of his backing dancers during his performance — BET was hesitant when booking Nas, asking for his team’s confirmation that he wasn’t a “satanist or devil … [Read more...] about Ahead of BET Awards, Lil Nas X Details ‘Painful’ History With Network

Hear Sylvan Esso’s Sparse, Experimental New Single ‘Your Reality’
Sylvan Esso have released a fragmented, stripped-down new single, “Your Reality.” The track follows last month’s “Sunburn,” the electronic pop duo’s first new music since 2020’s Free Love . The instrumentation on “Your Reality” is sparse, with Amelia Meath singing the vocals almost like a poem as she asks, “Were there rules originally, or are we learning how to be?” In a press release, Meath’s bandmate Nick Sanborn describes the song as a “reference point for how weird we can take it. How bare and strange something can be.” The pair adds that the single marks a new chapter for Sylvan Esso, concluding a trilogy of their first three LPs. Free Love , a nominee for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards, was the group’s most recent album, marking Sylvan Esso’s third full-length. The album was a follow-up to 2017’s What Now , also a Grammy nominee . This summer, the band will hit the road on a tour supporting Odesza and appear at a number of … [Read more...] about Hear Sylvan Esso’s Sparse, Experimental New Single ‘Your Reality’
Taylor Swift Is Haunted by Loneliness in Ethereal New Song ‘Carolina’
As Swifties patiently wait for Taylor Swift to release the next installment of her Taylor’s Version album re-records, the singer-songwriter is keeping fans satiated with the release of “Carolina,” a new song written for forthcoming movie, Where the Crawdads Sing . The film, out July 15, is an adaption of American author Delia Owens’ 2018 novel of the same name. Alluding to the film’s backwoods setting, the track evokes the elegiac tone of Appalachian folk ballads as Swift’s voice, otherworldly and siren-like, is accentuated by sweeping string arrangements and the gentle strum of a guitar. “And you didn’t see me here/No, they never did see me here,” she sings, bringing her voice down to a haunting half-whisper. Swift drew inspiration for the emotionally-wrought tune from the film’s storyline, which follows Kya, the so-called “Marsh Girl” who raises herself in the marshlands of North Carolina. Frequent Swift collaborator Aaron Dessner, who worked alongside the Grammy … [Read more...] about Taylor Swift Is Haunted by Loneliness in Ethereal New Song ‘Carolina’
