EXCLUSIVE : Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment , Crazy Rich Asians producer SK Global , Jeff Sagansky and Florence Sloan have teamed to launch Jaya Entertainment , a content company focused on developing, producing and financing premium international series. Top TV producer Kaplan, prominent media investor Sagansky, Sloan and SK Global (via Ivanhoe Pictures) previously partnered in a Mumbai-based venture that produces the hit Hindi-language Netflix series Delhi Crime , which won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series and returns for a second season on the streamer later this year. Kilian Kerwin, formerly EVP International Production at SK Global, will helm the day-to-day operations of Jaya, which will initially focus its efforts in India and Israel. SiriusXM has acquired Team Coco , Conan O’Brien’s podcast network and digital media business, including his popular podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend . Team Coco’s staff will continue to produce the network’s slate of podcasts and collaborate on new content for SiriusXM. The deal includes a five-year talent agreement for O’Brien to remain host of his namesake podcast, which will continue to be available widely. He’ll also collaborate with SiriusXM to create and exec produce a new full-time, original Team Coco comedy channel for SiriusXM subscribers. The agreement also includes distribution of select video from Conan’s podcast as well as from the archives of his long-running late-night show on TBS, live events and merchandise from the Team Coco brands. It also includes a first look deal for feature films. As part of the agreement, Hawley will launch a production company. The untitled film is based on the novel Mickey7 by Edward Ashton. Bong will write, direct and produce for his production company Offscreen, alongside Kate Street Picture Company’s Dooho Choi and Plan B’s Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, as part of the latter’s overall deal with Warner Bros.
