Kendrick Lamar kicked off the North American leg of his Big Steppers Tour Tuesday night in Oklahoma City, where the rapper delivered the live debut of a handful of tracks from his latest LP. While Lamar premiered a bunch of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers songs live at his recent Europe gigs — including his headlining set at Glastonbury — Tuesday’s show at the Paycom Center featured the first-ever performances of “Worldwide Steppers,” “Purple Hearts,” “Father Time,” “Die Hard,” “Crown” and “Mr. Morale,” the latter featuring guest Tanna Leone. Lamar’s tour-opening setlist also included five tracks from Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City and Damn ., but his landmark To Pimp a Butterfly was nearly untouched: Only the hit “Alright” was performed from that album. Evan Dando — Lemonheads frontman, one-time alternative rock “it” boy, and notorious hedonist whose career was the very definition of sex, drugs, and rock & roll — is set to tell his life story in an upcoming memoir. Titled Rumors of My Demise — a tongue-in-cheek nod to the seeming inevitableness of Dando’s premature death in the Nineties — the tome tracks the singer’s wild, excessive life. “My life is a muddy river.
