Now that the Super Bowl is over, where are the crowds going? Evidently, they’re going to Florida’s Walt Disney World and its resorts, and they didn’t even have to win a Big Game. The company reported today that all parks are now completely booked next week for Disney Resort Guests and Theme Park Tickets Guests. She’s been Connie Conehead, the youngest spawn of Beldar and Prymaat. Or perhaps you remember her as Christie Christina, the cohost of E. Buzz Miller’s public access cable show. Maybe you recall the stints as a TV news reporter on Chevy Chase’s version of SNL ’s “Weekend Update” segments. However you remember Laraine Newman from her Saturday Night Live days of more than four decades ago, you’ll look at her in a different way after reviewing her new audiobook, May You Live in Interesting Times , a nine-hour memoir out via Audible.com March 11. Narrated by Newman, the audiobook explores the entirety of her life, from growing up in Los Angeles with movie star neighbors, bearing witness to the music scene in the 1960s (and losing her virginity to Johnny Winter) and seeing the rise of comedy in the early 70s, to studying mime in Paris under the tutelage of Marcel Marceau. Of course, that ignited the rocket to fame that was the original cast of Saturday Night Live . … [Read more...] about SNL Alumna Laraine Newman Tells (Almost) All In New Audio Book

Editors Note: Author and educator Rosiland Wisesman penned the 2002 book Queen Bees & Wannabes , which was adapted by Tina Fey into the 2004 film Mean Girls , produced by the late Jill Messick . Wiseman is also founder of Cultures of Dignity, which works with communities to shift the way we think about young people’s physical and emotional well-being. She wrote this guest column for Deadline. Sixteen years ago I wrote a book about girls and their social lives called Queen Bees & Wannabes . I wrote it because I wanted adults to appreciate the seemingly small things — like best friend breakups, gossip, and dealing with boys who make sexually explicit gestures and then dismiss you for being “uptight” when you tell him to stop — all have on girls’ emotional well being. Related Story Jill Messick, Producer And Studio Exec, Dead Of Suicide At 50 I had no idea that this “Girl World” I was describing would turn into the movie Mean Girls or what … [Read more...] about ‘Mean Girls’ Book Author On The Passing Of Jill Messick And The Need For Civility In The #MeToo Moment – Guest Column
