ENTERTAINMENT 02/07/2019 10:26 am ET Winter is here, and clues are coming. By Bill Bradley and Leigh Blickley The chamber of secrets has been opened. Sure, Harry Potter is not a character on “Game of Thrones,” but what else can you say when, after having been starved for content for months, the HBO gods have finally answered our prayers and released a slew of new photos? Up until now, the network has only shared a few seconds of footage from Season 8. But while we’re still waiting on the ever-elusive final season trailer, recently released photos of the upcoming episodes could hold more secrets than Varys’ little birds. Last we saw from Season 7, Jaime Lannister was heading north, a pregnant Cersei Lannister was double-crossing everyone in King’s Landing, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen were getting intimate on their journey to Winterfell, and Tyrion Lannister was looking worried as heck on a boat. By the looks of the Season 8 photos, … [Read more...] about ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Photos Are Dark And Full Of Secrets
Game of thrones season 7 trailer
14 minutes ago HBO just unleashed 14 new photos from Game of Thrones Season 8. Sure, it's not the official trailer everyone is clamoring for, but it's more than just something. The photos may not reveal much, but they highlight Team Dany/Jon in the North, with a couple of photos of Cersei Lannister in King's Landing. The showrunners love their secrets, so they are probably hiding some other character and location twists for either the full trailer or (more likely) the April 14 premiere itself. The photo of now heavily bearded Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) caught my attention. He is giving someone a bit more than just a Mona Lisa smile in the image below. Where exactly is he, and who is the beneficiary of this merry-eyed glance? Where is Jaime Lannister? I'm guessing Winterfell. Somewhere in the north is a safe guess. He's more bearded now and changed out of his King's Landing garb. He looks Full North. Who is he smiling at? Maybe Brienne of Tarth? She has a new … [Read more...] about Who The Heck Is Jaime Smiling At In New Game Of Thrones Season 8 Image?
10 minutes ago 'Tis the season for trailers to drop for April releases. HBO went very vague with its Game of Thrones Season 8 "Dragonstone" teaser, but it too shared hints for its own endgame. A full official final season trailer is definitely coming later, but here's the brief new teaser: No new footage. No voice-over. Doesn't seem like much, right? Well! It's a good thing Game of Thrones fans take after Tyrion Lannister -- they drink and they know things. They dissected the Targaryen out of the teaser and came away with some good nuggets. First, the teaser title. Dragonstone is where Daenerys Targaryen was born, and her current headquarters. It's also the home of the table we're looking at in the teaser, with a detailed map of Westeros. That's where Aegon the Conqueror planned the invasion of Westeros. The teaser shows ice coming down the map from the North. Obviously, that's meant to show the White Walkers moving south, with the frozen dragon a sad reminder of our … [Read more...] about Decoding The Game of Thrones Season 8 Dragonstone Teaser
x The last seven seasons of Game of Thrones have been a pretty wild ride, and though the latest run had its detractors, most agreed it upped the ante on the action stakes as well as moving the plot significantly towards its conclusion. Said conclusion will take place in the eighth and final season of the show, but up until today, we only knew that it would air at some point in 2019. Now, thanks to a speech at the HBO Television Critic’s Association by Casey Bloys, we can narrow that time frame down by precisely 50%. Yup, that’s right, the next season will air in the first half of 2019. I agree with you that this isn’t exactly narrowing it down that much, but at least we know we’re going to get it sooner rather than later. Plus, examining the previous premiere dates of the past seasons indicates that HBO likes to go for a slot around April, with season 3 premiering as early as March 31st, 2013 and season 6 on April 24th, 2016. Of course, the … [Read more...] about Game Of Thrones Season 8 Set To Debut In First Half Of 2019
ENTERTAINMENT 06/07/2018 04:54 pm ET How to train your Drogon... By Bill Bradley and Leigh Blickley We thought Season 8 of “Game of Thrones” was still about a year away, but it looks like winter has come early in the form of a DreamWorks movie. In the new trailer for “How To Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden Kingdom,” we see Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and the other Vikings face a new threat and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Who cares? All we know is that it looks like an animated Westeros. Did “How To Train Your Dragon” take some inspiration from“GoT”? There’s a white dragon, lots of burning ships and what looks like a King in the North. Oh, and you know Kit Harington voiced a character in this movie, too? We repeat: The King in the North is in this movie! Memes mashing up “How To Train Your Dragon” and “Game of Thrones” existed before now, but this new trailer … [Read more...] about Proof ‘How To Train Your Dragon 3’ Is Just An Animated ‘Game Of Thrones’
