Beyonce Presents Muhammad Ali Award To Colin Kaepernick
Beyonce made a surprise appearance to present Colin Kaepernick with SI's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award on Tuesday night -- and took aim at his critics that somehow STILL don't get why he took a knee. "It’s been said that racism is so American that when we protest racism we’re protesting America. But let’s be very clear -- Colin has always been very respectful of the individuals who selflessly serve and protect our country and our communities and our families," Beyonce said at the Barclays Center. "His message is solely focused on social injustice for historically disenfranchised people. Let’s not get that mistaken.” It's a similar stance to the one Jay-Z took last month on his 4:44 Tour ... when Jay got behind the NFL player protests. Beyonce also thanked Kaepernick for his "selfless heart" and "conviction" ... sacrificing his own livelihood to make the world a better place for everyone -- something Ali fought for throughout his life. As for Kaep ... … [Read more...] about Beyonce Presents Muhammad Ali Award To Colin Kaepernick
‘Roseanne’ Revival’s Huge Debut Stuns Hollywood, Prompts Soul-Searching
Roseanne made a triumphant return Tuesday night, blowing past projections with a 5.2 adults 18-49 rating and 18.2 million total viewers for the debut of its revival, which remarkably drew 10% more viewers than the original series finale 21 years ago. While nostalgia was expected to bring in eyeballs, no one predicted such a huge turnout on premiere night for the blue-collar family sitcom with a Donald Trump-supporting protagonist, especially among the younger demographic. But then, few predicted that Trump would become the Republican nominee and would win the presidential election when he first announced his candidacy. Both Trump and Roseanne were able to tap into the often overlooked and underserved working-class audience, especially the portion that holds mostly conservative views. Not surprisingly, the top TV markets where Roseanne delivered its highest ratings were in states handily carried by Trump in the election. No. 1 was Tulsa in Oklahoma, which Trump won … [Read more...] about ‘Roseanne’ Revival’s Huge Debut Stuns Hollywood, Prompts Soul-Searching

Sid Vicious Accused of Murder
Former Sex Pistol Sid Vicious was arrested on October 12th at the Chelsea Hotel and charged with the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend of almost two years, Nancy Spungen. Spungen, like Vicious (real name John Simon Ritchie) a heroin addict, is thought to have died between the hours of five and nine on the morning Sid was arrested. Her body was found in the bathroom of the couple’s first-floor hotel room in a pool of blood. Dr. Geetha Natarajan, associate medical examiner for Manhattan, said the cause of death was internal hemorrhaging due to a single knife wound to the lower abdomen. Vicious’ personal friends in the punk community immediately suspected that Spungen’s death was part of a botched double suicide. “They were both really depressed and talked about dying the last few weeks,” said a woman who had become friendly with them at the Chelsea. Another friend said the couple had a long-standing agreement that if one died, the other would follow. Then, a week after his release … [Read more...] about Sid Vicious Accused of Murder
