EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has commissioned a second season of its British true crime series My Lover My Killer . The first season was a hit on the service and spent several weeks in the streamer’s top ten charts, prompting a re-up of the FirstLook TV -produced show. Distributor Abacus Media Rights closed the deal on behalf of FirstLook, a factual indie based in the Midlands in England. The returning series will again investigate stories of those who paid the ultimate price for offending an obsessive lover. These include tales of an obsessive soldier with a deadly mission, and a crime scene on a puppy farm. They will be told with interviews from those involved in the cases, which include some of the most shocking British murders. Each episode features testimonies from family and friends of the victims, and investigative police officers. Peabody Awards Ceremony Finally Making Its Move To L.A., Sets 2023 Date
The Peabody Awards are officially moving their annual awards ceremony to Los Angeles, three years after originally announcing the plan that was eventually sidelined by the Covid pandemic. The organization said Thursday it will honor its winners June 11, 2023 at the Beverly Wilshire. It will mark the first time the honors, bestowed annually by the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, will be held in L.A. For the past few events the ceremony was held in person at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Peabody Awards Moving To Los Angeles For First Time In 80 Years
The Peabody Awards will be held for the first time in Southern California, the Peabody organization said today. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Thursday, June 18, 2020. The awards honor stories from broadcasting, digital media, entertainment, the documentary world and news programming. “As the country struggles to find its footing in challenging times, the power of media narratives becomes paramount.
