JAMIE Dornan has put his £2.4million mansion up for sale - and it's really quite vanilla. The Fifty Shades star - who plays kinky billionaire Christian Grey in the film franchise - bought the pad in August 2016. He had tried to rent the property out for £10k per month, but didn't have much luck. Jamie's estate agent, Jeff Kohl, wouldn't reveal why the star is selling up - or if the actor and his family plan to relocate to a new place nearby. However, Jamie does spend the majority of his time in Europe, so maybe he's quitting life in Los Angeles for good. The 2,510 square foot Hollywood Hills house - which, unfortunately doesn't have a red room of pain - was originally built in 1959, then redesigned and expanded in the 1960s by architect Val Powelson. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. 2.5 stars. A heaping 156-minute plate of plot spaghetti, as superheroes and supervillains chase six objects across time and space in a bid to control ultimate power in the universe. Just enough moments of humor to keep things watchable, but the movie is overcrowded with Avengers (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman, and others) and subplots and the movie feels like a comedown after Black Panther. 2 hrs. 36 PG-13 (language) — Gary ThompsonBEAST. 3 stars. Freaky British psychological thriller about a young misfit (Jessie Buckley) who becomes attracted to a local man (Johnny Flynn) suspected in a series of murders. Loosely based on actual crimes that occurred in the Channel Islands, where the movie was shot. Moody, effective, and well-acted, especially by Buckley, with a vivid sense of place. 1 hr. 47 R (violence) — Gary ThompsonBLACK PANTHER. 3.5 stars. Thoughtful, rousing new Marvel adventure from writer-director Ryan Coogler, who … [Read more...] about Capsule reviews of feature films
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIF. – James Foley spilled the thought offhandedly. “It’s this funny kind of thing,” he said. “What do you pay attention to? And what do you ignore?” He was sitting in a spartan, windowless editing room on the Universal Studios lot last year. On a set of screens behind him was an image of stubbled, sharp-jawed man in a crisp white shirt and a young, lingerie-clad woman with porcelain skin and a Mona Lisa smile. Foley, a director whose work is lodged in the zeitgeist of the ’80s (Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” video) and ’90s (David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross”), was finishing work on a pair of movies that would go on to be smashingly successful and widely smeared: “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” the second and third installments in the erotica-romance “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy. But Foley isn’t talking movies. His muse … [Read more...] about ‘Fifty Shades’ casts the attention of Hollywood back on Foley
