Madison Beer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday to perform her new song “Boyshit,” which she temporarily re-dubbed “I Don’t Speak (Boy)” to meet the standards of network television. The performance found Beer and her band performing in a studio space set up to look like a cozy living room filled with teddy bears. Against the song’s bouncing bass groove and plucky guitar riff, Beer crooned the song’s pristine kiss-off hook, “I don’t speak boy/You’re always coming back but your love’s poison/So I think that I would rather just avoid it/I can’t understand you ’cause I don’t speak boy.” “Boyshit” appears on Beer’s new album, Life Support , which she released last month. The album marks Beer’s proper full-length debut and follows her introductory 2018 EP, As She Pleases . “With my album, I made a promise to myself that this is going to be my time to express honestly and truthfully how I’ve been feeling,” Beer told Rolling Stone about Life Support last year. “I could … [Read more...] about Madison Beer Brings Punchy Kiss-Off ‘I Don’t Speak (Boy)’ to ‘Kimmel’

Adipurush Director Om Raut: I’m Not An Accidental Filmmaker; Attended Film School And Worked With MTV USA
Filmmaker Om Raut is prepping hard for his much-ambitious project Adipurush , which stars Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The mythological film is based on Ramayana, which stars Prabhas as Lord Rama and Saif as demon Ravana. The lead actress, who is supposed to step into the shoes of Goddess Sita, has not been decided yet. In his recent tete-a-tete with a leading daily, Raut shared his story about turning into a filmmaker, and said that he is not an accidental filmmaker. "I was not an ad filmmaker. I used to work for MTV in the US, in New York. Advertising was a part of the job. Once a story-teller, always a story-teller. In every form of story-telling, you are only trying to paint a picture the way it is in your mind. I feel a film like Tanhaji needed that canvas and scale, and so does Adipurush," said Raut. Raut further added that he was sure from the beginning that he wants to make films. Why Sarah McBride Might Be the Most Inspiring Elected Official in America
It’s early January, and Sarah McBride is sitting at a desk in her parents’ house in Delaware. A “Sarah McBride for State Senate” yard sign is wedged between a bookshelf and the wall — already a relic from the election she won two months earlier. “It’s been a whirlwind,” she says, leaning forward and taking off her glasses to rub her eyes. And not just because it’s her first time holding public office: When she won her election for state senator of Delaware’s 1st District with an overwhelming 73 percent of the vote, she became the highest-ranking openly trans elected official in U.S. history. Even on a video call, it’s easy to imagine how she captured three-quarters of her constituents in November. At 30 years old, she’s already well into her second decade in politics. She was 13 when she tagged along on a campaign for the first time, for a friend of her dad’s who was running for Delaware insurance commissioner. At 17, she worked on Democrat Jack Markell’s bid to be governor, … [Read more...] about Why Sarah McBride Might Be the Most Inspiring Elected Official in America
