EXCLUSIVE: International Literary Properties (ILP), which holds rights to the estates of the likes of Evelyn Waugh , Maigret author Georges Simenon and Van Der Valk’s Nicolas Freeling, has bolstered its legal team with a triple hire including Disney alum Lisa Logan. Logan joins as General Counsel for EMEA alongside new North America VP, Legal and Business Affairs, Barbara Cohen and Rights Manager Sabina Pekin. Logan, who will be the primary legal resource in terms of managing IP, is an industry veteran who worked for more than a decade in-house with Disney, Nickelodeon and Discovery Channel before moving to private practice. She is a former Partner and Head of Media/TV at Gately and then Simkins. Cohen will lead business affairs for North American acquisition activity and Pekin, who will report to Logan, will manage contracts and rights. Gerard Butler is returning to Greenland . The Scottish actor is set to reprise his role as John Garrity in Greenland: Migration , a sequel to action thriller Greenland . The core filmmaking team will return with director Ric Roman Waugh headlining from a script by Greenland writer Chris Sparling. Butler’s co-star Morena Baccarin will also reprise her role as Allison Garrity. In a continuation of the story, the Garrity family, who survive a near-extinction level event when an interstellar comet hits the earth, must leave the safety of the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland of Europe to find a new home. Stephen Colbert , a noted fantasy fan, has come on board to help develop and produce a series adaptation of Roger Zelazny’s The Chronicles of Amber . Colbert, via his Spartina banner, will produce the adaptation alongside Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment . It comes seven years after The Walking Dead creator Kirkman announced that he was developing a series based on the books with Vincent Newman Entertainment. The Chronicles of Amber features two series of five books each – The Corwin Cycle and The Merlin Cycle – with a number of short stories and prequels also in the series. It follows the story of Corwin, who awakens on Earth with no memory, but soon finds he is a prince of a royal family that has the ability to travel through different dimensions of reality, called shadows, and rules over the one true world, Amber.
