Travis Barker has an announcement to make — and it has nothing to do with romance or relationships. The drummer, writer and producer is adding lifestyle entrepreneur to his resume this week, with the launch of Barker Wellness , a new line of cannabinoid-infused products designed to help users find a little rest and relaxation, whether you’re a platinum-selling musician on the road, or just hanging solo at home. Barker Wellness launches this week with products targeting three main areas of focus: sleep, maintenance, and recovery . The product lineup includes THC-free tinctures, a pain relief cream, and “snap packets” (think pre-measured tinctures in individually wrapped squeeze packages) designed to be used on their own, or simultaneously (a press release says the products “work harmoniously to promote full mind and body wellness”). If this was a typical Sunday morning, I’d report that The One I Love, the latest quirky quasi-comedy exec-produced by the Duplass Brothers, had a solid but not scintillating debut weekend at the specialty box office. But this has not been a typical Sunday morning. When I opened my email from RADiUS-TWC, I found not only their theatrical box office results for The One I Love but also the film’s VOD numbers. Wow! The combined numbers arrived with no fanfare, just honest transparency. RADiUS deserves kudos for being a trailblazer here, and I at least want to make sure this moment is duly noted, and with enthusiasm. The company has given me non-theatrical metrics before, but to give it alongside theatrical is a first, and something unique that I hope quickly becomes common. The 71st Berlin International Film Festival unveils its program this week, with the Generation and Retrospective sections kicking off proceedings today. A total of 15 films are selected across the two youth-focused Generation competitions – Kplus and 14plus. Of the titles chosen, 60% are directed by female directors. Scroll down for the full list. The movies come from the likes of Canada, China, and Korea. There are eight world premieres and six debuts. Films arriving from other festivals include the animation Cryptozoo, which was at Sundance and features Lake Bell and Michael Cera in its voice cast. The 2021 Retrospective program will focus on the comedic work of three actresses – Mae West, Rosalind Russell, and Carole Lombard during the era when the Motion Picture Production Code (“Hays Code”) was coming into effect. Halloween is weeks away but the celebrations have kick started already! Celebrities are busy visiting Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and also attended Los Angeles Haunted Hayride black carpet premiere. While couples are going for some scary fun together, there are a few single stars and co-stars too who are bringing in the festive mood weeks before the celebrations.
