EXCLUSIVE : Katie Cassidy ( Arrow ), Devon Sawa ( Gasoline Alley ), Chris Backus ( Mindhunter ), Kate Bosworth ( The Enforcer ), and Tyrese Gibson ( Fast & The Furious ) have joined survival thriller Fallout , which recently wrapped filming in New Jersey. The film charts the fallout when a nuclear threat forces six people into a malfunctioning underground bunker. Tensions soon rise as they fight to stay alive. With oxygen and the trust in each other quickly running out, they learn that a more sinister plan is afoot. Michael Benaroya’s International Film Trust is launching world sales on the project at the upcoming EFM. Penned by Michael Miceli ( The Bounty Hunter ) and Cecil Chambers ( Awol-72 ), the film will be directed by Chambers, who is financing and producing under his Triumphant Entertainment banner alongside Miceli, Tyler Jon Olson ( Cash Out ), and Benaroya ( Lawless ) for Benaroya Pictures. Liam Neeson is set to reteam with director Neil Jordan ( The Crying Game ) on upcoming thriller The Riker’s Ghost , we can reveal. Parallel Film’s Alan Moloney ( Albert Nobbs ) and Endurance Media’s Steve Richards ( Freelance ) will produce. Jake Katofsky and Susan Mullen will co-produce with Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes director Rupert Wyatt also serving as producer. In addition to producing, Richards’ Endurance will also finance. Taken and Schindler’s List star Neeson will play a convict set for release who is forced to break a terrorist out of prison. Capstone’s Christian Mercuri is launching international sales on the project ahead of the EFM in Berlin. CAA Media Finance is handling U.S. rights. The film going into production this summer will have Barrera playing a young Salvadoran woman who travels to Kentucky to meet her fiancé. What she uncovers is something sinister beyond comprehension, as her American dream curdles into a nightmare of biblical proportions. Will Soodik ( Westworld ) wrote the script. EXCLUSIVE : Fresh off a surprise “work in progress” screening at SXSW , Robert Rodriguez’s action-thriller Hypnotic , starring Ben Affleck , has been set for a May 12 U.S. release. As we revealed last month , Ketchup Entertainment will be launching the movie on more than 2,000 screens. The looming release for a movie that remains unfinished is yet another talking point in the project’s tumultuous journey to screen. Little has been straight-forward for Hypnotic but the warm reception it received on Sunday night was a welcome respite for its creatives and financiers. Aristomenis Tsirbas’s ‘ Timescape ’ Sells Worldwide Luminescence has unveiled a slew of deals for Canadian director Aristomenis Tsirbas’s adventure film Timescape . Newcomers Sofian Oleniuk and Lola Rossignol-Arts star as two youngsters who travel back in time to prehistoric times, where they encounter dinosaurs while trying to escape from an approaching asteroid. Luminescence took the film to the EFM where it secured deals to Australia (Eagle), France (Factoris), Hungary (ADS), Italy (Plaion), Japan (Nikkatsu), Korea (Yejilim), Latin America (Leda Films), CIS (,Nashe Kino), Middle East (Front Row), South Africa (Filmfinity) in Taiwan (Cola Films) and the UK (Dazzler). The film was released theatrically in Canada via TVA Films in late 2022. XYZ Films acquired all U.S. rights earlier this year.
