What's Yay: Performances What's Nay: Superficial writing, half-baked conflicts Story Jugjugg Jeeyo begins with 'Nain Ta Heere' song which captures the journey of Kuku (Varun Dhawan) and Naina (Kiara Advani) from being school sweethearts to finally walking down the aisle. London’s West End Ticket Prices See 21% Price Hike In Three Years: New Research
A ticket to see a play or musical in London’s West End will cost 21% more than before the pandemic, according to new research by theatre publication The Stage . The average ticket price has risen since 2019 from £116 ($142) to £140 ($172), it says, with the average top price for a ticket for a play jumping up by 38% to £114 ($140). Ariel Winter’s Brother — If Mom Can’t Have Custody … Give It To Me!
Ariel Winter 's older brother has just filed legal docs asking to strip custody of the 15-year-old " Modern Family " actress from her sister ... and award it to him instead ... claiming the sis is an abysmal guardian. Jimmy Workman -- who played Pugsley Addams in the 90s "Addams Family" movies -- filed the docs in L.A., calling Ariel's older sister Shanelle Gray a bad role model who sexualizes Ariel ... and exploits Ariel's fame and money to promote her acting school. Jimmy says Shanelle has a history with drugs, has appeared in public "almost nude revealing her private parts," and is having Ariel spend exorbitant amounts of money on a party lifestyle. What's worse ... Jimmy says Shanelle is poisoning Ariel against her family, especially her mother Chrystal Workman . Since the court has refused to return custody to Chrystal -- after Ariel accused her of being emotionally abusive -- Jimmy is now asking for custody to be transferred to him. Shanelle's lawyer … [Read more...] about Ariel Winter’s Brother — If Mom Can’t Have Custody … Give It To Me!
It’s Quinta Brunson’s World and We’re All Just Laughing in It
Quinta Brunson — creator, executive producer, and star of the hit comedy Abbott Elementary — could moonlight as a tour guide. She meets me at the Warner Bros. Television building on a crisp day in April. The building, tucked behind bushes and an open-air set of a quaint city street, is boxy and drab, one of the least magnificent structures I see on the massive lot. And yet Brunson has a way of showing its hidden magic. Flanked by a publicist and a studio rep, we load into a golf cart, where Brunson leads me on a tour of the WB campus — it also just happens to be a tour of one of the most exciting young careers in comedy. In fact, while we chat in front of an outdoor set of a white church used in Gilmore Girls and Pretty Little Liars , an eager fan on a stretch cart packed with visitors on a guided tour loudly points her out. In 2018, she was cast as a lead in a CW series called The End of the World As We Know It after auditioning in this very building. The show never … [Read more...] about It’s Quinta Brunson’s World and We’re All Just Laughing in It
‘Stranger Things’ Season Four Finale: Runnin’ Up That Hill for Two-Plus Hours Isn’t So Fun
This post contains full spoilers for the final two episodes of Stranger Things Season Four, which are streaming now on Netflix. Midway through the super-supersized Stranger Things fourth-season finale, “The Piggyback,” Nancy (Natalia Dyer), Steve (Joe Keery), and Robin (Maya Hawke) are climbing a haunted house’s stairway in the Upside Down as part of a complicated plan to keep the hell dimension from breaking through into their own world. They have avoided attention so far, but suddenly Robin wakes up the demonic tentacles that surround them, and within moments, all three teens are pinned to the walls, having the life choked out of them. The scene cuts to another set of characters, leaving the viewer on edge about how (or if, but not really) Nancy and the others will escape what looks like certain doom. A few scenes later, the season’s main villain, Vecna/One/Henry/Mother of Dragons/Breaker of Chains/Cleaner of Carpets (played under at least some of those names by … [Read more...] about ‘Stranger Things’ Season Four Finale: Runnin’ Up That Hill for Two-Plus Hours Isn’t So Fun

Adam Venit Retiring From WME As Terry Crews Suit Settled
UPDATED from 8:49 AM story with Terry Crews ’ response: Adam Venit , the longtime talent agent and an architect of Endeavor and WME ’s movie businesses, is retiring Monday. Venit told his close colleagues and clients yesterday that he has made the decision to retire, and he is transitioning a stellar list of stars and filmmakers to others at WME, a list that includes Adam Sandler, Sylvester Stallone, Shawn Levy, Dustin Hoffman, Eddie Murphy, Michael B. Jordan, Vince Vaughn, M. Night Shyamalan and Marc Forster. His final months as an agent included becoming mired in the #MeToo controversy after former WME client Terry Crews claimed the agent groped him at a party. Venit apologized, but Crews was steadfast and has become a forceful voice in that victims don’t necessarily have to be women. Being drawn into that narrative certainly dampened the spirit of Venit, who was temporarily suspended and stripped of his title as head of WME’s Motion Picture Group. Crews today … [Read more...] about Adam Venit Retiring From WME As Terry Crews Suit Settled

Senate Passes Bipartisan Gun Violence Bill; Legislation Expands Safety Measures But Falls Short Of Ban On Assault Weapons
The Senate passed a compromise gun saefty bill on Thursday in a 65-33 vote, marking a rare time that lawmakers of both parties responded to a wave of mass shootings with legislation. But the bill still falls short of what many gun reform advocates want, like a ban on assault weapons and a restriction on firearms purchases to those under the age of 21. Those proposals enjoy widespread public support, based on recent polls, but were a non-starter as a bipartisan group of senators worked out a compromise. The legislation, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, would expand background checks for those 18 to 21, give incentives to states to pass “red flag” laws, and expand a federal law that bans domestic abusers from acquiring guns. The legislation also provides funds for school safety and for mental health. The bill now will go to the House, which is expected to vote on the legislation on Friday. President Joe Biden has indicated that he will sign it. The senators, … [Read more...] about Senate Passes Bipartisan Gun Violence Bill; Legislation Expands Safety Measures But Falls Short Of Ban On Assault Weapons
Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Law Took Effect. Chaos Ensued
The trouble in Orange County Public Schools began, perhaps unsurprisingly, at a seminar called “Camp Legal.” The meeting’s stated purpose was for the district’s attorneys to walk school administrators through changes to law, a part of their annual training. But Florida ’s Parental Rights in Education Act, better known as the “Don’t Say Gay” law, was due to take effect the following week, and neither the state nor the district had offered formal guidance on what that new law would actually mean for their classrooms — a problem, since summer school is already in session. So the administrators derailed the lesson plan and unloaded a spade of hypotheticals: Could staff wear the rainbow articles of clothing — like the “Ally” lanyards the district had handed out? What about the “Safe Space” stickers teachers put on their classroom doors? Can teachers display photos of a same-sex partner and, if so, can they tell students who that person is? When the seminar … [Read more...] about Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Law Took Effect. Chaos Ensued
