RELATED: Infinity War Almost Had a Post-Credit WandaVision Scene with Vision in a Body Bag "The movies are two very different movies. The intention is we will change it, we just haven't come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them." Joe Russo's brother Anthony Russo revealed that the titles are "misleading," since Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 won't be just one half of a huge movie. Splitting one movie into two parts has become quite trendy over the past few years, particularly with adaptations of beloved novels, like the final books in the Harry Potter, Twilight, The Hunger Games and Divergent franchises. This report reveals that the brothers are "adamant" that each Infinity War movie will feature a different story, but we don't know anything about the story for each movie quite yet. … [Read more...] about Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2 Will Get New Titles

The Audacity of ‘Dreams’: Biden’s Inauguration Week and the Triumph of American Musical Weirdness
As Seamus Heaney’s favorite Irish poet William Butler Yeats said, writing about the endlessly fucked-over island where they were born (as were Biden’s and Obama’s ancestors), too long a sacrifice can make a stone of the heart. (Typical Eighties kid, I first learned that line when Bananarama quoted it on one of their album covers.) So just feeling strange pangs of hope and joy and even pride — if that feels like a reason to celebrate this week, that’s because it is. Not a moment when the job is done, obviously — just a moment when the work can begin. The moments of relief, laughter, optimism, exhilaration? Those were real. Any grown-up could tell you how those moments end in tears, but could also tell you that without them, the work is harder to do, harder to even see. This was a week for the thunder to roll and the rain to cleanse. And when the rain washes us clean? We’ll know. … [Read more...] about The Audacity of ‘Dreams’: Biden’s Inauguration Week and the Triumph of American Musical Weirdness
Riz Ahmed Is Pretty Sure He’s Done with Star Wars, Venom and the Spider-Man Universe
The first Venom introduced audiences to Tom Hardy's crusading journalist Eddie Brock as he tries to take down Riz Ahmed's Carlton Drake, the CEO of the shady corporation the Life Foundation. It was a potent combination, but how could Warner/Reprise distill its essence into a promotional campaign that would grab the media by the ear? This was a problem Bob Regehr was uniquely equipped to tackle. Hunkered together in his office, Regehr and Gordon fell into a brainstorming session that began with the idea of throwing a debutante ball for the Alice Cooper character at the elegant Ambassador Hotel, where all the best Los Angeles families celebrated the launch of their daughters’ social lives. The Ambassador’s managers would never allow it if they knew what the event was actually about, so Regehr asked his assistant, Shelley Cooper, who had the most proper voice and attitude in the building, to deal directly with the hotel. … [Read more...] about Strippers, Drag Queens and Dancing Dogs: The Insane 1971 Party That Launched Alice Cooper
