Tempo Productions Hires Former Silver Reel Executive
Yorkshire and London-based production company Tempo Productions today announced that Georgia Bayliff, former Head of Film at finance outfit Silver Reel, will join Tempo’s executive team, where she will co-produce company projects. Bayliff will join Piers Tempest and Lauren Cox on the executive team at Tempo. Bayliff exits Silver Reel after most recently producing Paradise Highway , starring Morgan Freeman, Juliette Binoche, and Frank Grillo. She worked across the company’s film & TV slate for over seven years, sourcing and steering projects from development and finance through production to release. Tempo is gearing up to launch its 25th feature film into production. According to the contract, obtained by TMZ, the $5 mil is an "advance" on any earnings the winner brings in from record sales, the official tour and more ... during the 5 years. Showtime Starts Removing Short-Lived Series From Its Streaming Platform
The purge of some of Showtime ’s less popular series from the network’s streaming service has gotten underway. According to sources, the majority of of the shows impacted lasted one season. As Deadline revealed exclusively earlier today , that includes Let The Right One In and American Gigolo , which have been canceled. Additionally, in the process of being taken off are American Rust , Wakefield , and On Becoming a God In Central Florida , which also ran for one season each, as well as the Jim Carrey starrer Kidding , which produced two seasons, sources said. The removals are part of Showtime’s integration into Paramount+, announced earlier today , which includes the linear network being renamed Paramount+ with Showtime later this year. As part of the changes, the company will “divert investment away from areas that are underperforming” and that account for “less than 10% of our views,” Chris McCarthy, who oversees Showtime, said in his memo. Kim Kardashian — FDA Slams Her Morning Sickness Endorsement
Kim Kardashian has gotten the attention of the FDA, and not in a good way. The agency is threatening to yank her morning sickness drug of choice off the market ... because of her endorsement. Kardashian hit up her various social media accounts last month to announce she was "partnering" with a company that makes Diclegis, a morning sickness pill. The problem ... Kim sings the virtues but not the risks of the drug ... something the FDA requires. So the FDA fired off a letter to the company, asking them to stop "misbranding" the drug or take it off the market. The letter demands the company correct the problem by getting Kim to repost her endorsements with the proper warnings. Kim has since deleted the post off Instagram and Facebook ... but it's still up on Twitter. A rep for Duchesnay USA tells us they had a deal with Kim for only one post.
