Former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson testified before the Jan. 6 committee on Tuesday that on Jan. 6, President Trump insisted that security measures be taken down at his Ellipse rally in order to boost the size of the crowd, arguing that people carrying weapons were “not here to hurt me.” Hutchinson said she overheard Trump say something to the effect of, “‘I don’t fucking care that they have weapons. TMZ.com UPDATE 11:54 AM PT -- Hutchinson went on to say, the day after the insurrection, Trump's advisors persuaded him to make public remarks to calm the country. She says Trump agreed, but refused to characterize the riots as violent, and Trump said he didn't think the rioters did anything wrong. Instead, he blamed Pence and, presumably referring to the "Hang Mike Pence" chants, Trump said, "Mike deserves it." She also said Trump wanted to say he would pardon the insurrectionists, but was talked out of it by his advisors. TMZ broke the story ... Miss Universe owner Donald Trump gave Monnin a 24-hour ultimatum to retract her statements that pageant winners are predetermined -- but Monnin refused. So this morning, one of Donald's lawyers tells TMZ, the Miss Universe Organization -- Miss USA's parent company -- has filed docs to take the matter before a private arbitrator, and he intends to go after Monnin for all she's worth.
