Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo declared on Monday that a number of U.S. government agencies during former President Obama‘s administration — the Justice Department, the FBI, the IRS and the CIA — “were all involved in trying to take down Donald Trump.” Fox News chief judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano was on Bartiromo’s Fox Business show to discuss reports that the FBI had an informant speak to members of the Trump campaign in 2016 as part of an investigation into Russian interference in the U.S. election. Napolitano said that “we may be on precipice of exposing a very, very extraordinary political use of intelligence and law enforcement by the Obama Administration,” but hedged by noting there is a low threshold for what warrants an investigation. “But this is very different Judge, this is a major presidential election,” Bartiromo replied. “President Obama, basically, what it appears to me, politicizing … [Read more...] about Maria Bartiromo: ‘The DOJ, The FBI, The IRS, The CIA’ Were ‘All Involved in Trying to Take Down Donald Trump’
Donald trump remarks
MSNBC host Katy Tur says that with the ascension of Donald Trump, “decency has been lost.” “From what I’ve seen the past two and a half years on the campaign trail up until now, if there’s one thing that’s really suffered because of Donald Trump’s candidacy and now his presidency is decency,” Tur said Monday. Tur, who covered the 2016 campaign for MSNBC, recalled going to Trump rallies and seeing Trump supporters “say pretty terrible things about the opposing candidates or terrible things to the press.” “I saw men wearing shirts that said Hillary Clinton is a c-word. I heard a man yell ‘assassinate that b,’ but the actual word on Hillary Clinton in the middle of a Donald Trump rally and nobody looked at that man and ‘Hey, maybe that’s a little too much,” Tur said, further recalling the time when Trump telling supporters who engaged in violence that he would pay their legal bills. … [Read more...] about MSNBC’s Katy Tur: ‘Decency Has Been Lost With Donald Trump’s Ascension’
President Donald Trump opened up the White House for a celebration of military mothers and spouses. At the Wednesday gathering, Trump signed an executive order to increase federal-agency hiring of military spouses. However, Trump erred in his remarks about an issue dear to the families in the attendance — military pay.Trump brought up his role earlier this year in signing the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2018, the typical legislative vehicle for providing pay increases for the military.“We just approved $700 billion for our military,” Trump said. “So we’re going to be having the best equipment ever known. First time in 10 years.”That’s flat wrong. In fact, the last time that service members didn’t receive an annual pay increase was in 1983.And … [Read more...] about PolitiFact fact-check: Did Donald Trump sign the first military pay raise in 10 years?
The day is May 2, 2018. Kanye West is one of the leading voices of Republican discourse. Colonel Sanders just resigned as one of the president’s top lawyers. And Donald Trump has been nominated by members of Congress for the Nobel Peace Prize. Let’s all just hope that highly advanced extraterrestrials from a far off galaxy haven’t chosen this day to invade our planet, because we will not have a lot to show for ourselves. Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN) tweeted out that he and 17 of his House colleagues wrote a letter to Oslo recommending Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. The letter contends that Trump ought to receive the prize for “his work to end to [sic] the Korean War, denuclearize the Korean peninsula, and bring peace to the region.” Today, 17 of my House colleagues joined me in nominating @realDonaldTrump for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. pic.twitter.com/TJpJKW9JGH — Rep. Robert De Niro is still as anti-Trump as ever. Months after criticizing Donald Trump in an impassioned speech at the National Board of Review awards, the veteran actor continues to speak out against the reality star-turned-president. De Niro, who on Wednesday kicked off the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival with co-founder Jane Rosenthal in New York City, tells The Hollywood Reporter why it was important to highlight Trump's tense relationship with the press in this year's lineup."[Closing night doc] The Fourth Estate is an obvious one and a necessary film to see. ... It's about The New York Times and following the various reporters around and what they're dealing with on a daily basis," he says of the Liz Garbus-directed documentary, which will close out Tribeca on April 28. "It's just important to watch that, to see how they deal with the truth, and how the truth is distorted, and to see how they're just trying to keep things in balance."De Niro adds: "It's insanity with Trump and … [Read more...] about Robert De Niro explained why he thinks what Donald Trump is doing as president is ‘very dangerous’
