It could be a battle of the brothers in the courts very soon as deposed and much-accused Harvey Weinstein has retained attorney Patricia Glaser to represent him in a possible looming action against Bob Weinstein and the Weinstein Company. As more revelations of sexual harassment and even accusations of rape are coming out against Weinstein, Deadline has learned that the Hollywood heavyweight could be taking a legal shiv to the younger brother and TWC for terminating the 65-year old’s employment with the company on October 8. With internal divisions perhaps at play, any forthcoming suit could center on Weinstein’s most recent employment contract, which he inked just a couple of years ago. UPDATES with comment from New York Times: One of Harvey Weinstein ’s attorneys says the media mogul is going to sue The New York Times over its report today of alleged sexual harassment claims against The Weinstein Company co-chairman. In a statement, attorney Charles Harder said that the Times story “is saturated with false and defamatory statements about Harvey Weinstein.” “It relies on mostly hearsay accounts and a faulty report, apparently stolen from an employee personnel file, which has been debunked by 9 different eyewitnesses,” the Harder Mirell & Abrams lawyer added. “We sent the Times the facts and evidence, but they ignored it and rushed to publish. We are preparing the lawsuit now. All proceeds will be donated to women’s organizations.” Nothing has been filed. TMZ.com Vic Mensa 's pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance, but he won't do any time behind bars after striking a deal with prosecutors ... TMZ has learned. Kendra Glover , a rep for the Loudoun County Commonwealth's Attorney, tells TMZ ... Mensa pled guilty to one count of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, which is a Class 1 misdemeanor. We're told as part of the plea deal he got 12 months in jail, but that was suspended -- meaning instead of serving it behind bars, he'll have a year of unsupervised probation. Vic will also have to take a substance abuse assessment, perform 25 hours of community service, and pay a $1k fine. BTW, he'll get 50 percent off that fine if he successfully completes the other probation terms.
