It takes hard work and dedication to graduate at the top of your high school class — whether you end up in the top 10 among 90 classmates or the top 35 among 350. Today we salute the hundreds of students who accomplished that rank in St. Paul and other east metro schools. This annual project invites schools to send us a list of their “Top Graduates,” however they define them. Some schools designate the traditional valedictorian and salutatorian, others define a Top 10, and some recognize a long list of students who have achieved honors status. Our 2019 compilation shows students headed to colleges from coast to coast — from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, to the University of California Berkeley. As college majors, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) is strong.
