JAY — A hostage situation in Delaware County was resolved Monday afternoon with one man hospitalized in unknown condition, authorities and his wife said.Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and officers with the Grand River Dam Authority Police responded about 10 a.m. to a residence off 580 Road about a mile and a half from U.S. 412. The residence is in an eight-home rural community between Oaks and Twin Oaks, about 70 miles east of Tulsa.Tony Manley, either 55 or 56 years old, was being held hostage in his home, said his wife, Connie, at the scene.She said Monday afternoon that the hostage situation was over and that her husband had been taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.Authorities had scheduled a news conference at 3:30 p.m. Monday to discuss the incident.OHP Trooper Colby Overstreet said the incident began after a Delaware County deputy was in pursuit of a possibly stolen vehicle. JAY — Delaware County Sheriff Harlan Moore confirmed Monday that law enforcement officers are working a hostage situation in southern Delaware County. Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and officers with the Grand River Dam Authority Police responded to a residence off 580 Road about a mile and a half from U.S. 412. The residence is in an eight-home rural community between Oaks and Twin Oaks.A man whom officials have not identified is reportedly being held hostage in the home.The man's stepson was at the scene early Monday afternoon assisting authorities in trying to figure out the layout of the home. He told a reporter that officers informed him two suspects had bailed out of a vehicle after being chased into a field by OHP troopers and those individuals entered the nearby home of his stepfather.An Oaks Fire Department vehicle could be seen leaving the scene with one of the man's neighbors and two children.This story is developing. JAY — A Delaware County man is being held on murder charges in connection with the death of his teenage son.Bail has not been set on Tony Rutherford, 47, of rural Jay.“Toney and his family are very sorry by the loss of their child and, time will reveal the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident which does not constitute a crime,” said Winston Connor II, Rutherford’s attorney.District Attorney Kenny Wright said the investigation is ongoing and could not comment on the victim or the manner of death.This story is developing.
