Christopher Pennock , whose long career in daytime drama is best remembered for his portrayal of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde character on ABC’s supernatural soap Dark Shadows , died Feb. 12 following a brief hospitalization in California. Pennock, who was diagnosed with melanoma last summer, was 76. His death was announced on the Dark Shadows News Facebook page. Pennock’s wife, Lynn Dunn Pennock, told the site that her husband, a lifelong Buddhist, “has transitioned into the pure land of Dewachen with complete enlightenment leaving only a rainbow body behind.” Dark Shadows actor David Selby, a friend of Pennock’s since their days on the 1960s-’70s show, wrote on his blog , “Chris was the most fun loving, generous and kind man with a great smile. Art Directors Guild Awards Nominations: ‘Mank’, ‘Tenet’, ‘Promising Young Woman’ And ‘The Flight Attendant’ On List
The Art Directors Guild has unveiled nominations for its 25th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards, which celebrate the year’s best achievements in theatrical motion pictures, TV, commercials, music videos and animated features. Winners will be announced April 10 during a virtual ceremony. Last year, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Avengers: Endgame and Parasite were the big film winners in the Period, Fantasy and Contemporary categories, respectively, with Hollywood going on to take the Production Design Oscar. TV winners included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Cherrnobyl, The Big Bang Theory, Russian Doll, The Umbrella Academy and Drunk History . As previously announced, Ryan Murphy will receive the group’s Cinematic Imagery Award this year. Jimmy Woo’s WandaVision Spinoff Gets a Fan-Art Poster from BossLogic
A new fan-made poster from BossLogic is teasing a WandaVision spinoff starring Randall Park as Jimmy Woo. Imagining a series called S.W.O.R.D. Chronicles, the image shows Jimmy holding a couple of playing cards with his name brandished on the front. Unfortunately, no such series is currently in development at Marvel Studios, but it seems pretty clear that a lot of people would be stoked to see something like this happen. You can take a look at the artwork below. The BossLogic poster is inspired by a viral Twitter post from actor and filmmaker Stephen Ford. In the original tweet, Ford Pitches "an entire Disney+ show about Jimmy Woo just working weird cases in the MCU," in the spirit of The X-Files. Marvel fans were then quick to suggest Kat Dennings co-star as Darcy Lewis, basically making Jimmy and Darcy the Mulder and Scully of the MCU. Based on their chemistry in WandaVision, this suggestion made the idea even better. Last Jedi IMAX Poster Hints at Rey’s Fall to the Dark Side
The IMAX poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has arrived. There's been no shortage of marketing for the follow-up to Star Wars: The Force Awakens lately, but this is a particularly great poster. It's tough to imagine die hard fans getting any more excited for this movie than they already are, and this poster isn't likely to win anyone over who isn't already going to see the latest Skywalker saga adventure, but it's a great poster nonetheless. And it may sway you to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in IMAX. "Rey finds her place in our exclusive art for @StarWars #TheLastJedi, coming to IMAX theatres December 15!"
